I play on the Eclipse server and started a smuggling prof. I heard that there is a way to get alot of
slicing XP by slicing into a Faction Terminal. More than 100 xp. Could someone verify this and if so give a waypoint on Eclipse that I can go to.

Unless someone knows a cheat that I do not (besides the player cities one), its rather slow and troublesome to do terminal slicing. I've leveled two M.Smugglers, and it was much easier to just do containers until I was able to slice crates of survival knives. This, of course, assumes you have several thousand credits or so to throw away.

Doing containers till weapons is the best bet.

What is the player cities thing? I believe that is what he was talking about.

True, it's easier to just buy containers, but if you don't have the cash, there's always the time-honored method of sitting in front of a terminal slicing it every two minutes while offering to slice containers for free. (Or to be extra tricksy, offer 5-10K if you fail--but of course you're using clamps so you're not going to fail. It usually draws some extra traffic, though.)
God I hated that early slicing, hahah.. nobody was selling clamps at the time. Hell on earth.

/thinks about the past, where no clamps were sold because there were no smugglers yet...
I did my terminal slicing at keren, slicing the imperial mission terminal next to the smuggler trainer while i made my ton of shadowpaw and got trained each level of spice. That were 4 very long hours, very very long.

I believe that what you are talking about are factionnal bases hidden by players around the galaxy.
Yes you can get up to 1k slicing xp by slicing those terminal, but the problem you will get is that you cant slice the securtity terminal till the bounty hunter does its part. It needs to be done in a sequence and you need to be overt to be able to do so..
The best way to level slicing, Get crates of survival knifes, molecular clamps, and precision leser knifes and slice away! 250xp is not that bad, and you are sure to succeed, cause on factionnal bases, you might failed your slice...

I suppose under the right circumstances, this could be doable...but several things would have to happen.
1) You'd need a friend on the opposite faction willing to set up a small base for you...approx cost 1-2 mil creds if you bought one from a Smuggler dealing in faction items.
2) That friend would then have to supply you with the invul times for the base. That's the only times when the terms spawn.
3) You'd need a BH buddy. This probably wouldn't be difficult, especially if you could find one who's leveling Investigation, since I think BH get a huge Invest XP payout as well.
4) You'd have to fight your way through the NPCs garrisoned at the base. Not a big problem on a small base, especially with armor and a good set of buffs.
5) Let the BH do his thing, then slice your terminal and collect your XP, then leave.
**Rince and repeat 4 & 5 every 24 (12?) hours...(or whenever the next invul time comes up...only the base owner or a high ranking member of his faction will be able to see this.)
Problems with this scenario.
1) Finding an opposing faction member willing to help with the base purchase and placement.
2) NPCs are one thing. Random players showing up is an entirely different matter. You'd eventually probably get ganked
3) Without a PA to defend the base, or any defenses other than the NPCs (turrets, minefields, etc.), I'd give the base a life cycle of 2...3 days tops. Eventually members of your own faction will get wind of the undefended base and take it down...just because it's there. This results in a waste of your 1-2 million credits.
And last...
4) You get 1000 XP for slicing a terminal that you can only slice once per day. On the flip side, you get 100 XP for slicing regular terminals every 2 minutes. So, in 20 minutes, you can get the same amount of XP...probably more if you shout for containers during the 2 minute wait time.
BOTTOM LINE:
Get off your lazy ass, suck it up and slice the regular terminals. If you stop complaining, and don't think about it, the terminal grind will go by in a flash. I did my terminal grind sittingin Dearic on a Sunday afternoon while I was watching football games...WITHOUT using clamps. (I chose one of the lesser used terminals in Dearic because I really didn't want to deal with the crowds in Cnet, even if I probably could have done a container or two. I just wanted to be left alone at the time.)

I agree with my esteemed colleagues, base terminals would be more trouble than it's worth. I did my climb to weapon slicing standing just outside the bank in Bestine just off the traffic between the starport and the cantina. Used to get a lot of traffic with a lot of people with containers.
All in all I think good places are starter cities or places where a lot of people are hunting. I would think Dant Mining Outpost would be a good place.

when i was doing the container grind, i would get my butt load of containers and sit next to a terminal and slice it every 2 minutes. it took the edge off my container expenses.

Here's my tip. Slice the terminals without clamps (to save LOTS of money). When you fail shout for containers, sell/grind spice, and generally make friends for the next two minutes. Try again. If you fail, repeat. If you succede, do the missions. This will build you up some decent XP, and if you're slicing faction terminals, some starter FP's.
