Thread: Need Unarmed Help Badly

I'm finding it difficult to complete the Unarmed Combat branch in order to qualify for Novice Smuggler. Getting to Pistol 3 witha DL 44 was a snap and I find no trouble taking mobs for 700+ pistol exp. But when it comes to Unarmed, I'm finding myself getting incapped regularly by white con mobs. I have Unarmed 2 (nearly 3).

I'm a true newbie with no cash/guild mates to assist with armor/buffs/ect working from Tatooine on Chilastra. I was able to get a speed sliced Vibro Knuckler but still take a good amount of downtime from blue mobs and serious downtime from white con mobs. With Pistol, I can easily take a 800 cred mission from start to finish with 0 downtime and decent pistol XP. But I'm usually sitting on my arse regenning after taking out the first 2 mobs outside a lair for the same difficulty missions.

It's extremely discouraging when considering how much utility I'll get from Unarmed Combat once I actually reach Novice Smuggler (ie: zero). Does anyone have any suggestions for getting this Unarmed Combat out of the way? My backup profession is Novice Droid Engineer, btw, so there's little potential help there (can't make combat capable droids yet).

First thing you have to do, in my opnion, is taking novice medic and get some B stimpacks so that you don't spend so much time sitting (or incapped).

Sure it'll take a bit longer than with pistol, but that's because with your pistol you can shoot 2 or 3 times before the mob gets in range to hit you, and you can't at unarmed ranged.

One way to bypass this handicap is to get to pistol 4 and healthshot 1, you'll make the mob bleed and then can hit it with your VK. Tha won't take lots of unarmed XP apart.

1. find the fastest VK's available. 1.5 speed is a good goal.
2. forget specials. Use intimidate and berserk.
3. group with a pet or a droid (experience bonus).
4. hunt quenkers on Dantooine.

It shouldn't take more than 4 hours or so.

Find a speed sliced VK. You will not be certed for them, but with the added speed you will still be hitting for more damage per second. Picking up Novice Medic is a good idea for the "grind" also.

Your preference here, but some Kinetic Resist Ubese would be highly beneficial also, though not necessary with some good stims and Novice Medic.

Hope that helps

No longer holding out hope, SWG will never be the game we fought so hard for, that we believed so much in. Farewell friends.

The 2 posts above state it perfectly. A speed VK and Low level medic are the way to go. It does take awhile but it can also be fun.
