Thread: Is this a bug or not? CSR response pasted in it is working as it is supposed to be working

In the last few days I've been out with my guild hunting Krayts.

I'm Master Commando and Master Smuggler

Never did find a really big one but I noticed that if I invoked FD I could not use any of the items from my pack nor could I use any of my heavy weapons in this case the Rocket laugher - 693 dmg a shot.

I got a message saying that I can't use heavy weapons now.

If I didn not have FD invoked then I could use those items and fire any of my heavy weapons.

I could swap my flame thrower for my lag pistol and back while FD was acitve.

Is this a bug or as the devs intended?

BTW FD failed once outr of about 50 times for me last night. If I got closer the 25m to the beast it nailed me.

Thaks for any feedback

Huh? Your statement is a bit confusing.

You could use disposable weapons during FD? That would be a bug/exploit.

You could change your equipment during FD? Thatwould bealso a bug.

If you're laying on your back in a FD state, the only thing you should be able to do with anything in your inventory is /examine. If something else has happened previously for you, it was a bug.

You should not be able to use anything while you're FD.

I cant edit my original post for some HTML reason.

To add to the note I was not incapped at the time. I was standing up or kneeling and firing at the creature.

I had FD active but I was not incapped

The process i used was

1. AIM to get into combat

2. Execute FD to keep from getting killed.

3. either do a FLS2 or /attack to start shooting.

Becasue I know my haevy weapons are not very evvective I tried to use th RL for laughs. I did not get to fire my RL because I reveived a message saying I couldn't use heavy weapons.

And whenever I clicked on the use option of the radila menu form my brandy nothing happened.

If I did not envoke the FD command I cold switch weapons when evder I wanted and use anything form the pack that I wanted.

Not to be nasty but I do knoo the difference between an FD incap and a honest to goodness incap

You do know FD goes into your combat queue and has a HELL of a long delay associated with it.

So, you hit your FD hot-key, and get the message that "You prepare to feign death."Then, you suffer the long delay...during which, you can't shoot, eat, stim, or anything else.

If something happened and you actually got hit during this delay, but because of lag, it doesn't register for a few seconds, that would explain why you got the message that you couldn't use your RL.

The lag could be the explanation because I recall getting up hitting FD, running to get out of range and not stop runnig when I wanted to only to fall down with the FD incap.

I misunderstood the machanics of FD .

The explanation I read stated that I had to be in combat to use the command.

That accounts for the AIM command.

The combat queue had to be empty to execute a FD properly.

That is why FDwas the secondcommand I entered.

and as I understand it I can then do all the shooting and hitting I want until (prividing the FD was successful) my oponent hit me.

At that time I'd do the actual FD and fall onto my back with an incap window that had zero left on the timer.

Using a /stand command removed the incap and I got back up.

Nowhere did I read anything that stated that the FD command had a time restriction on it.

.

This is what I understand FD is supposed to do.

Fake my death so whatever is attacking me thinks I'm dead and goes off to kill something else.

Is this not what FD is supposed to do?

You know the ranged and melee defenses of a Master Smuggler but you must also understand that a Master Commando has very little melee defenses and our specials do not work unless we are within melee range.

(at 4444 Commando we have only+12 melee points more than a master dancer or master musician. I was afraid to find out that a player with both MasterMusicain and Master Dancerr had more melee defense than a Masgter Commando so I didnt look.

BTW I was healed during one of the FD incaps and It did not break the incap state.

I queried the CSRs and this is the response:

This would be intentional. The feign is placed in your combat queue, and remains there until you are hit initiating the feign.

Thus, other abilities cannot be done as the feign death ability is blocking their action.

It appears I did not understand the mechanics of FD.

Here's another skillI wont be using very often anymore.

When I'm 16m from a creature and it does does not charge me or even turns around and I get killed in one blow

then I guess I'll have to stay way back and spam auto attacks.

Yes, but you do not really need to use a special before FD. If you get attacked you can feign.

It happens that you get incapped while feigning, i.e. the timer appears. I am not shure, but i think this happens when the attack you use to feign would have also incapped you. There is no timer on FD.

It is supposed to, but it doesn't.

Dude, Dancers have more Melee and Ragned Defense than Smugglers. Not hard when it is a mighty +0

BTW I was healed during one of the FD incaps and It did not break the incap state.

Then you had luck and you didn't got healed by a Jedi...
