Thread: This is a little Eerie...

So, this is the first time i've started a thread, don't hate me.

Is it just me or has this place quieted down a whole lot today? I hope this is a function of our anger finally ebbing a little bit and attitudes returning to the day-to-day routine (i've seen several of the standard spice/slice grind questions this morning.) Hopefully the trolls have left, especially those trying to hijack our complaints by voicing their own. It would be tragic if it's quiet because our most intelligent and vocal members have departed for greener pastures, though no one can fault that action.

Do we have a direction now? Caylin hoped that we'd finish off this newest professional summary. While I'm sure many are dreading adding in the same things time and again, we should do this on his behalf. I don't suppose we have an offical Correspondant Pro-Temp, since during his absense we'll likely have another crack at 19 Answers, and it would be nice to get a voice into the C-Forums and such?

Anyway, just my random thoughts this morning (as my office is as quiet as a tomb as well).

I don't think it's so much about this place quieting down, as it's the calm before the storm.

Most of us have probably said our peace for now, and are now just sitting back and waiting for the devs to respond. Whether that response adds fuel to the fire, or provides a ray of hope, or both, remains to be seen. And it looks like JustG has written us off until TH comes back from vacation next week...

So...we wait...and simmer...and build our arsenal of responses until they are needed again...

Its more like people are waiting. Lets not forget what was posted and the timeline.

June 3 -that infamous State of the Game message was posted with news of yet another delay in our revamp, throwing this community into a rage.

June 4 - JustG makes a post on the smuggler boards to soothe the troubled spirits, and makes this comment - "We are at the FF right now, so TH and I are going to be fairly unavailable at this time, but we will spend some time with you next week..." (JustG on 6-4-04)

June 5 - Again, JustG posts, notifying us that GreenMarine is again going to work on our revamp when his other obligations are fulfilled. This is much like a post done by Q-3PO in september of last year.

It is now June 9th, the middle of the "next week", and there has been no time spent here by a red name. "Next week" is, technically, over this coming Saturday at midnight. There are now 3 days and 10.75 hours for JustG's comment about spending time here to be achieved.

I personally am waiting to see how (and if) this comes to pass, and if it's a quality time versus a single post cover-smoke blowing issue.

Do we have to go to bed at 10PM?

Welcome, Garvin... If Caylin says you're a good man, then that's all I need to hear.

I too, believe the quality of the post is what's most important. I will not faint at the sight of a devs post, but I will faint at the sight of the dev's keeping their most recent promises to the smugglers forum. Most importantly an outline of things to come, followed by how and when it will be implemented.

I'm here for the moment, and yes I'd greatly appreciate if yall could nail down that group combat summary to everyone's satisfaction. Remember to keep it involving and interesting, or you could find yourself stuck with a pretty dull role in the future. Try to find us a niche if you can.

Direction:

  1. Finish the summary

  2. Take a couple deep breaths, and have some fun. Go over the chuckle thread or something.

  3. See if a developer is going to post this week, if not, I'm assured TH will come in next week.

  4. Try not to hang whoever does post, and try to keep it productive.

  5. They know we are ticked, soplease show them we can be ticked yet 100% constructive if you can.

  6. 19 answers in a couple weeks is correct, I'll go ahead and make a thread real quick and sticky that so that can start being figured out. A bit premature, but it doesn't hurt any.

I have contacted Garvin who is the Commando correspondent and asked him to look in on yall time to time. He is a great correspondent and he was more than happy to look in on yall. So you will still have a link to the c-forum if needed whileI am not around.
