Thread: So whatever happened with the bug that supposedly was not a nerf... but actually WAS?

You know, not being able to slice with Clamps and UKs in the crate?

I was heavily criticised for bringing this up because it was supposed to be a bug that was getting fixed. Here we sit at 10.3 and it still hasn't been addressed.

That change was implemented to distract Smugglers from the spice change. Seems to have worked somewhat, except for me.

I still want the answer as to why spice was changed!

And fix the blasted crates!

Agreed.

To others it may seem like something so simple to complain about. But when someone gives you 2+ sets of comp to slice it becomes quite annoying.

"Mistake" and "will be fixed" is the new term for nerf. You guys didn't get the memo on that?

Yeah honestly, I mean, I could care less about putting knives into my inventory, but at least let us pull clamps and WUK/AUKs

Long story short...

Back when spices were actually useful (before the Chef revamp)...you would take the spice then hit the downer. After the downer, your stats would return to normal and your bars would be full.

After they changed something in some stealth patch they put in, you took spice and hit your downer. Except now...after your downer, your stats would return to normal, but your bars would have to regen...as if you had taken damage...thus increasing your downtime.

Honestly to me, that makes more sense for spices.

As for the Slicing Crates - it was NOT a nerf. It WAS a bug, and they've just not fixed it yet, like everything ELSE they break for us.

It may make sense, but there's two problems with that.

1) This change was undocumented, never appearing on any patch notes. It just happened one day and we discovered it. After asking numerous times about this change, Caylin was given an answer as to why it was made, but was told not to tell us. We almost had an answer in the 19 Answers thing, but that nice little bit of Dev communication was mysteriously ended right before we finally got the right question in. Still Caylin has not been given leave to give us the answer, and no Dev has ever, ever mentioned this change in the forums at all (at least none I ever saw).

2) It's a big killer of spice sales. The downer is there to give spice a negative. Despite making sense, in game terms it's too much. Either give me a down time where my stats are lowered, or knock my stats down and make me regen them, but not both. That really lengthens the downtime and makes spice not a valued product.

EDIT: Typos. Hate 'em.

Can't help but agree. As far as I can see it's just piling on the incentive NOT to take spices, which considering that most spice users only ever use them as an emergency heal kinda ticks me off a tad...

Jee massah, can lil ol mesa have another bug-fix please, massah?
