So its another one of THOSE stories. You know. Loitering in C-NEt with master tag up...
Grahf: Got a minute to dmg slice something for me
Zirzo: Its a 50% chance you'll get damage. I charge 8 K for 1.
Grahf: I know that. I used to be a master smuggler, and not for nothing [WT F does he mean by this??] but you do know the going rate is 100 cred per % right?
Z: No I guess I'm just a noob and do things the new way, so sorry.
G: Not that I can't spare the 8k, but i would NEVER pay 8k for a slice, and FYI there is NO "new" way. Its either 34k flat, or 100 creds per point, besides you slice no better as a master than you would the slice ladder.
Z: Yea sure kid W/E you say but its NOT going to get you the deal you want. BUT I'm sure if you keep looking you will find a cheaper smug as they still exist.
G: Of course they exist as they are every other smuggler.
Z:Well then go find one and get the hell out of my tells please.

He's so obnoxious, but the last time slices were 100 per %, I think we were still doing Chapter 1.
Its a good thing that he didnt run into me afterword, as he would have been charged 10k. So much for his theory of EVERYONE slicing cheaper.

Guys thanks for your support. I was gonna let him haggle me to around 7k, but he turned ugly to soon. I have a macro for 10k, but I was in a good mood at firstand decided to quote him 8k instead. I had just got done with a 35% slice on this kids lighting cannon omg he was stoked on it- 1001 max damage and like 700 i think min.
Then just made 30k slicing 5 weps for a customer. I cut deals for bulk usually.
Well for every 3 or 4 cool customers theres always that one..
It sux to see you go Caylin. Your post were always worth the time to read. Did SWBF get you??

I know wt f?? I'm still confused by that one but I'm sort of intoxicated also. The quotes were word by word.

Was hanging around Coronet last night, just because. Was waiting for a doc to show up so I could get buffed and all, but before one showed up a guy asked me to slice some pistols for him. I agreed considering I wasn't doing anything anyway. During the trade back, his connection died or something cuz he suddenly went LD and i'm thinking "Crap, I have to stand here till he shows up or get called a thief."
Anyway, while i was hanging around another Master Smuggler shows up and we start chatting a bit. He got a kick out of the Secret Smuggler Handshake i tossed his way. I realized that, due to the wait, my hunting night was going to be ruined, so just kind of enjoyed the ambiance of a fellow Smuggler around. He tells me he's tired of charging 5k/slice and just logged on to see what people would do when he started charging 10k.
We joked a bit, made a deal that whoever gets the tell first would charge 10k. If the customer says "no thanks" and goes to the other of us, the second guy would charge 15k. And finally, when they decided the first smuggler had a better price and went back, it would suddenly be 20k.
Granted no one showed up looking for slices, but I had a blast hanging with this guy. When the CorSecs would walk by he'd whisper, "uh oh, cops." At one point a third smuggler showed up, a Rogue i believe, and we all started doing "hides his tools and spices stash" emotes. Then when they attacked one of us, we all cleaned the streets. It was really good times, I must admit. My best evening of just spending time in Coronet anyway.

that was last night on coronet starport too, a master smuggler shouting he was "at your service", i removed my tag and went to ask him how much he would charhe for a slice.
He answered "100 cr par % increase", and he added "i'm the cheapest slicer around".
I ended up showing my title again and told him not to prostitute himself this way, people are ok to pay 15k for a 3 hours buffs, they also can at least 5 to 10k for a permanent buff of their weapon. He replied i was a foolish noob, and in his 2 month long experience as a slicer he has never seen a smuggler charging so much. That's when i understood this guy was perhaps not smart enough to get rich and so i left him alone trying sell his body and soul to people, as for what i saw the hour i was around waiting for my buff, he had 3 customers while i had about 12 at 10k each, among which only one noticed i wasn't cheap, but didn't protest... poor guy.

This is how I put it. I charge 100-150c per % increase. Thats just the way I do it, and I make good money, I already have all the equipment i need, and other work, so it's just extra cash. I mean, I could raise prices up that high if I wanted to, because people still tip me extra no matter what (80k on my last full composite slice, my charge was around 60 because of a few 40% slices),. If people are happy with the work you do, and how you treat them, they respect you more.
But I am also sick of the people who think the way you say in your stories.They need to know that we know what we are doing. If you are charging 5k-10k for a slice, you aren't getting away with anything, it is simple supply and demand. Most everyone will pay the price, those who don't need to quit complaining. Heh, they only have one thing to slice anyways, people who pay the price have at least 5.
To add on to the stories, I was in Cnet yesterday, and I'm sitting down by mission terminals with my message up with all the info. I see this guy across the way and he spams themessage "Master Smuggler Slicing - pst for info". Now, I know every master smuggler I see spamming (including myself) includes prices place to meet, etc. I don't care that this guy is there cause I have a line of people waiting for me, but I check into it. I see his "Slicer" tag on, so I check his badges.
Sure enough, he isn't a Master. Joking around, I yell out "*cough*<player> isn't a Master Smuggler*cough*" After I said that, he comes walking over to me, not running, and yells at me
<player>"Look pal, don't you see the Slicer tag"
<me>"Yeah, but you're not a Master Smuggler though"
<player>"You jerk, I am a Master Smuggler"
<me>"Where's your badge?"
<player>"...looser"
After that comment he left Corellia

I think he meant 3-4k flat but left out the dash. Anyway I charge that now and I am still working on level 4 slicing. You can bet once I make Master I won't be that cheap. Hell I sliced a weapon for a guy in our hunting group, wasn't going to charge him, he still tips me 10k. Wonder what planet this ex-smuggler was hiding out on.
