Thread: Caylin before you depart

Hi there - hoping you're still around and read this post.
This is potentailly somehting that's outwith your control, and I'll understand if it is, but I think as we transisition to a new correspondent we need to see a clear dev statement as to the priority of the Smuggler revamp. I'm not asking for dates, not asking for documents, I'm just asking for a Dev to make a commitment in the forums as to roughly what patch we can expect to see it in.
We currently have no indication as to when we're EVER going to see a revamp to our profession .We've been more than accomodating to the devs, we've provided detailed feedback countless times, and we still having NOTHING to show for it. We've had numerous major nerfs to the profession, several of which have never been explained.
I'm not naive enough to think it can all be done with a wave of a magic wand, and I suspect it's still months away - but right now would be a damn good time for someone from SOE to post on this board their commitment to the revamp and a rough idea of when we should expect to see it.
*Note that, 'GreenMarine isworking on it in his spare time and will start on it full time after JtL is released', is NOT the commitment I'm looking for.
I want to know where our revamp is now pitched in terms of the Dev project team priorities.
You've already done more than we could have expected for the Smuggler community and I know this is a fairly difficult thing to get an answer to, but right now this community NEEDS to see some commitiment from SOE.

Sorry but we aren't going to get a date.
We have JTL then the combat balance then any bugs those two will produce to deal with first. After that should be our turn based on the feedback they have given me. All that we can work with is a 'best guess' and for me it is early next year. Yet that is as always, just my best guess as they aren't going to give us a date anymore.
Mostly because they don't want to be called liars if they can't meet the deadline.
JTL + Combat Revamp > Everything else for now. I was assured though that rightafter those would come our revamp.

So basically, we have no official indication when we'll actually get fixed?
So we could STILL be sitting here this time next year waiting on a Smuggler revamp, if SOE decide to bring out another moneymaker, revamp Jedi again or basically take a couple of months off?
Thanks for the response Caylin, Fishbrains - pretty much convinces me that I have have to dump Smuggler. 
It's a shame, because it's a great community, butsmuggler hasbeenleft unfinishedfor more than a year, and I can't see it being fixed any time soon.

I will add that there are changes coming to smugglers in the combat revamp. It's not content, but it is something.
Best of luck, whatever you decide to do. Always remember that this community isn't just for smugglers, it's for anyone. Come by and visit anytime, regardless of your skills.

At least we can then be sure to be in the same galaxy and can meet every night in a cantina on tatooine or somewhere.

In three years, the Devs won't have to work so hard on content. Tatooine will just be one huge player city, so they'll simply rename the planet Coruscant. We'll say, "hey, lets meet in the cantina on Coruscant" and all end up at a different one.
