Thread: Upcoming Hutt Faction (Neutrality)

From my understanding, the JTL third faction (Hutt) will really just be a glorified version of neutrality. It seems to me that being neutral or a member of a criminal group would be more suitablefor a smuggler. I guess youwouldn't be able tosell faction anymore, though. Is there any benefit to being neutral, that makes up for that? Thanks.

"What makes a man turn neutral? Lust for gold? Power? Or were you just born with a heart full of neutrality?"

Uhm I guess the benefit would be you don't have to worry much about getting ganked in PvP or spending millions of credits for top of the line equipment with mind fire or other strange effects.

You also don't have to reconfigure all your skills so you are actually viable in PVP combat, that's also a bonus.

The Hutt fighters just sort of give the effect of a faction but there really is no Hutt allegiance. For instance, you can fly Hutt Fighters if you are -5000 Jabba/Hutt/Borvo, etc, and +5000 Valarian. Other than that, I thought we were hearing there would be no official third faction in SWG. We were supposed to be waiting for SWG2 for that.

Oh i missed a critical detail. JTL. Lol.

Unless you are rebel trying to be an imperial pilot in JTL, you don't have to worry about your ground faction at all.

Ground/Space factions are pretty much seperate. So you can keep your faction business and fly for the neutral factions.

This was covered in the Stratics chats so I hope I'm not breaking NDA. Lol.

Yes, and that is one of my biggest complaints about JTL so far. It should be based on your ground faction. I have made the suggestion on the beta forum that in order for your player to be a factioned pilot he would first have to be faction on the ground. Let's say your neutral and you want to be an Imperial pilot. If you don't have the faction standing yet then you would have to go to a recruiter and take enought ground missions to get your initial faction standing (200 faction points) and declare your faction (overt or covert). Then you would be able to go the the Imperial pilot trainer and be trained. I also made the suggestion of there being extra perks in the space portion for high ranking player faction members.

The reason I would like to see this is as it stands right now, it feels as if I am playing 2 seperate games base on the same premise. IMHO both games should feel more seamless and flow into one another more naturally than they currently do.

Bria is too much server for most of you 'girly-men'. In thoseforum flames of hate and mutual loathing I was tempered and hardened into the correspondent who ruled without compassion or mercy.

That place is never dull!
