We are doomed and have NO control over the type of slice we can offer =( This needs to change... I think there should be some lvl of control over this especially at Master Smuggler lvl.

Random slices from as low as 15% for a Master smuggler? Sorry, a Master Smuggler shouldnt be slicing for anything less than 20-25% and an equal chance to get 30%+ just as easily.

My suggestion is perhaps allow smugglers to consume more resources such as using 2 or more upgrade tools and clamps as first part of the slice there by giving the Smuggler a higher percentage to slice what they want... dmg or speed.

Overall, we just need some attention to Slicing that will help us for now while we await the revamp

Await the revamp?

So you really think it will occur in our lifetimes? *chuckle*

I think there is a marginally greater chance of them 'fixing' slicing...only marginal though.

Personally I don't care if I ever slice again. My title is down and I won't slice but for friends.

what's wrong with random? This place would be far more boring without the arguements and disscussions on slicing if it wasn't random. (I have to spin around 3 times to the left and 180 degrees to the right to get a perfect slice. That's not in game btw)

Do you really want tool qualitiy to matter so we have to run around like crafters, sinking points into artisan or paying a fortune like docs to get the best tools? Cause I garantee that will be how they impliment the non-randomness, other wise in half a year later we'd be complaining about those damn low 25% slices

Hmm... I, on the other hand, wish there was more randomness in the whole game - not just everyone min/maxing both their skillsets and equipment. Slicing being random holds a certain charm for me, and I have a feeling it's good for the economy, too. Unless it's being completely redone with a mini-game that depends both on your skill and random factors, I don't think changes are needed right now.

Slicing is working as intended.

If you are losing money when selling presliced weapons or something then sell them unsliced. Let the customer take the risk. I do just fine selling unsliced weapons and thats cause they are top of the line weapons.

I'm a Weaponsmith as well as Smuggler.

When I spend millions of credits on components only to get a low slice on my end product, I end up losing out because the weapon won't sell. It's sad, I know but really that's the way it is. You can't blame a guy for wanting to make a profit. We all want more credits, right?

I did come up with an idea today, though. Random slicing wouldn't be quite as badif we had another method of enhancing a weapon. What if we could also "Tweak" weapons? Picture Han and Chewie, always doing some kind of work on the Falcon, tool in hand, thier work never done.

You take your finished product, slice it, a permanant modification to current equipment, then CHOOSE to have a speed or damage tweak to select components within the weapon. A tweak could be a low number, say 5-10% of the max damage or speed and wouldn't be permanant. It would act as a PUP (not in place of) but for longer, say 2000 uses, or enough to get a player through a night of gaming.

This way, smugglers would get a constant profit turnover, ("Hey, can you tweak this for a little more speed?")and have a little more choice when it comes to the end product while keeping the random slice.
