So, in one of the recent discussions on being able to smuggle someone mentioned making spices subject to confiscation.

My first thought was then, heh , and then they could sell it back to us criminal types, just like real life...

Whoa. Imagine if we could buy confiscated spice from corrupt officers/officials, as part of the general circle of criminal life. Imagine if you were also subject to like, sting operations/raids. I KNOW we're not drug dealers, but doesn't that sound like fun?

Ah well, maybe if they ever implement Caylin's Crime Lord Prof idea...

I also simultaneously had this idea for a smuggler-crafted device that would temporarily make a weapon not look sliced to a scan, but dismissed that as something that would further Whoreify us.

That woudl be kinda neat...like you said I'm not much into anything that promotes the impression we are drug dealers...buuuut; it would be cool for smugglers to be able to buyback confiscated gear. Even if it wasn't spice, but anything that may end up being confiscated. Nothing may ever be confiscated, but if it ever is...it would be a great perk for Smugglers only to have access to an NPC or anything else that is liek a vendor of confiscated stuff.

Kind of like those police auctions where they sell all the stuff. But only smugglers can get in. It would certainly help the merchant type smugglers to maintain a business without any crafting skills. You just buy it cheap and resell it at a tidy profit...hell that's half of the smuggling profession anyway. If you read any EU books, most of the transactions that take place with Han, Lando, Talon, Booster, Mirak, any of them is picking up some hot stuff and then turning a profit from someoen else who needs it.

That would be sweet!
