I was having a discussion with a smuggler about when/if the devs ever revamp smuggler and templates I may have when they do. Scarface happened to be on at the time and then it hit me. Carbineer/smuggler! The smuggler friend of mine said that he could only see smugglers with pistols, but I told him about how carbines have all those neat area attacks which would suit a smuggler well. I just think that smugglers with another weapon besides a pistol is still viable in the roleplay sense, and because of Han Solo most people dont realize this. Just an idea I had that some people might think about.

Well, I heard something about them kicking around the idea of either Rifles 4, Carbines 4 or Pistols 4, and the same xp for Dirty Fighting and/or underworld... but I really don't want to see a Rifleman spamming Last Ditch with a Krayt T21 at the speed cap
Still, nobody said you had to use pistols to be a smuggler...

Nobody ever said you had to, but did you ever see a smuggler use anything other than a pistol in the SW universe?? I dont thinkI ever saw lando with anything but a pistol, I will have to watch it again though.... But yea... That would be sweet to usearea attacks.. hehe

If you get the spice and dirty fighting smuggler treesand BH carbs and Cannon tree's I believe you are thenaloud to say things like:
When walking into or out of a cantina:
"Say hello toda bad guy.......Dis isda las bad guyjoo gonna see"
To a n00b smuggler:
"First joo get tha money then joo get da power then joo get the p*ssy"
If someone wont pay you for your spice shipment:
"All I got in dis world is my b*lls and my word and I dont break dem for nobody"
or
"joo know what a kaasa is NT%, its a pig who dont fly straight"
Ifyour in-game girlfriend is mad:
"Another quaalude, che gonna love me in the morning"
and of course when in full Pwn mode:
"Say hello to my lile friend!"
Now again Ive checked with CRS on this issue and they told me unless you have the afore mentioned skill tree's you can not use these lines!

You do see Lando with a vibro axe. And Chewbacca has a bowcaster.
Also, I think it is partially because of Han Solo but more to do with the image of an outlaw in general. If I'm not mistaken, George Lucas directed a few westerns back before he made Star Wars, and some of that style of quick draw outlaw influence flowed into Han Solo's character less because it fit Han, and more because if fit the preconceived notion of what someone like Han should be. Want an example of the cowboy genre influencing Star Wars? That's easy: the cantina scene in Episode IV where Han shoots Greedo in the middle of the bar. Just about everything about that scene seemed to be modelled off of what we've seen so much happen in the saloons of spaghetti westerns.
