Thread: slicing and crafting XP, bug?

I'm trying to hit business 3 so I can have a vendor and I figured while i'm grinding I may as well make starter weapons then slice them for the double whammy. I noticed that crafting laser knives gives general crafting XP, pretty cool bonus. Here is the bug, maybe... Everytime you use up the charges on your laser knife and get the message you are rewarded another 48 general crafting XP. Is this just a reward for using your crafted item(s) or is this a bug?

No, that is a bug and one I have never seen. I would honestly make sure you submit a /bug just to make sure it doesnt look like your trying to exploit. I am sure other people have done it... But since the devs are ban happy on even the smallest thing(I dont use them so I am not worried), its better to come out smelling like a rose than an exploiter....

Hmm, I guess I better. I got as far into the artisan tree as I'm going to go so it won't help me, but let it be known I had no idea this was a bug for sure. please don't ban me or take away my 48 general crafting XP

I'm trying to remember....Diana, at one time didn't crafters get usage xp everytime someone used an item they made? I can't ever recall getting crafting xp using knives but that might explain it. I can't quite remember if usage xp was taken out of the game or not. However, I don't ever remember a system message for it.

You are right, I didn't get any message saying I recieved any general crafting XP. The only message I got was that my precision laser knife was outta charges, you know the message i'm sure. I would not have noticed but I needed about 20 xp to hit business 3 but I had tons of cdef weapons in my inventory and started slicing them first. After a couple slices I got the song and message saying I qualify for business 3. I figured out why after my next knife lost all it's charges.
