Caylin, can you see about getting this conversion ratio cut just a little bit, like maybe to 5:1 or even lower? As it stands now, it would take 76,500 weapon/armor slices at 250XP each to just get the Novice Senses box and one line of FS skills. At 5:1, it would take 25,500 slices, which is still a huge number.
Not counting the time involved, the broken mouse, or the severly damaged hand, 25,500 slices would take 2,295,000 units of Copper, just for the clamps, not to mention the 81600 for the Laser Knives or the 25,500 WUKs or AUKs that would be needed. 76,500 slices is uncomprehensible.
Along with that, our XP caps at 100,000 which is only 400 slices. 25,500 slices means 64 trips to convert XP, so again 76,500 slices is huge.
We're happy to get the Slicing XP conversion at all, but as it is now, we might as well not.

i agree to lower that insane conversion rate, cause that is painful..
and then they remove auto pull from crates, which is even worse

They're not going to stop the auto-pull from crates. TH posted that change would not happen.

TH posts alot of things some come true other don't.
But back on point that conversion rate does seem a bit outa whack.

These conversions rates are just ridiculous IMHO. Assuming you just were getting branches that took combat FS xp and had master of 2 combat elite professions it would take capping xp in both professions 60 times. Even doing that once a day takes 2 months and I know I can't do that once a day. Don't have the time or desire to do nothing but grinding xp. And to do it naturally would take forever.
Slicing xp while a better ratio is harder to come by and caps far lower. That is another of the big problems, the caps on xp. Real repitition will set in. Cap xp, go to Dathomir, cap xp, go to Dathomir, etc.

Our xp caps at 100k?
Lets get that raised... I should have enough xp to max out mine like weapon xp... +900k

It is entirely possible that those are just TC numbers and they will change when it goes live. They do have a penchent for making changes for live so there is still some moments of discovery for the player base.
It is also entirely possible that the xp ratios and caps is part of their built-in mechanism for managing the jedi population. Remember, initially this game was not meant for grinding. It was supposed to take months to become master of just 1 profession let alone a week to max out a template.
If this is considered part of the Elder game, then it is possible that they want it to take so much time...as much asI would liek to see it lowered.

I'm begining to believe that these are the numbers that will be on live. They obviously want it to be difficult and take time, that's fine, but they're basing their estimates on a power-gamers rate of progression, which leaves the casual gamer in a horrible mess.
Of course, I don't know if even a power-gamer would want to use Slicing XP for Senses at this conversion rate.

I agree this rate is far too high.
I've been trying to think of a more appropriate level for it. All the correspondents have been arguing for lower rates. All this is doing is making FS boxes another grind...

Thanks. I know I wouldn't mind getting the Persuasion line, but I definately will not be doing it with this conversion rate.
I also made a post on the Feedback forum (and a few threads on the TC forum) about the Weapons XP conversion rate. I suggested the Weapons XP ratio be 20:1 and Combat XP ratio be 2:1. This rate equals the Jedi experience rate. They get Jedi XP like we get Combat XP, at 10%. With 20:1 and 2:1, the amount of FS XP that will be gained in trading in XP from killing stuff will be the same as the amount of Jedi XP a Jedi gets from killing the same stuff.
Maybe you can throw that into the mix as well.
