Thread: Seriously considering to leave Smuggler

No I'm not leaving because of lack of rewamp and what else. My reason comes from a small accident I had a couple of days ago. Upon one late evening I was asked to slice a couple of weapons for a guy. I said yes and got the weapons, just as I hit slice it changes and BAM! biolinked. I got the shock of my life, when my heart started to beat again. I explained things to my customer, who was very cool about it. With some help from my customer I filed my first ticket ever in this game, explaining what happened and asked for the biolink to be removed. After a day of painful waiting I get home from work and read the reply to my ticket. Sorry no can do (not quoted, but I think most know what the standard reply is). I then file another ticket explaining that this can cause problems for me as a player and person and might force me to leave. I then went to chat with a CSR, both replies were. No can do.

Luckily my customer is very cool about all this and has offered to do the quest with me in order to get the rifle. Things might turn out well this time, but what happens if this occurs again? Next time my reputation might get destroyed, by some hottempered person who'll not be cool about it. I've enjoyed playing Smuggler, but I do not want to risk my reputation.

Heh, with all the problems of this prof, I'd always say "at least there's slicing."

This could happen to anyone of us. You don't have to stop being a smuggler just inform people that you personally don't do slices and tell them why. Also if you do continue sliceing ask them to biolink before you slice it.

I went quite a while not doing any slicing or FP selling. You'll get some 'tards who only see you as a FP ATM or slice monkey, but for the most part people understand when you politely decline.

If it makes you feel any better I did the exact same thing a couple of weeks ago with a pair of Katarn Knuckles, I even put up a thread that didn't get any replies. Luckily, my customer was just as understanding... it has made mepay more attention though.I think the Devs might want to look into a way to disable bio-links or do away with them entirely...

Additionally (edited in) I don't know if you recall, but I swear when I had the same accident that the bio-link was where the slice button usually is and when I clicked it I did NOT get a confirmation request. If I did I certainly did not notice it, and obviously you didn't either if indeed it did come up... I don't think it did.

You are exactly right about the location and the lack of confirmation. O noticed just as I released the button of my mouse the the slice moved once and biolink came in instead. Also there were no confirmation at all on this. I think they at least could have put that in.

I've been a bit upset about this, however today my problem got solved by CSR-annat. The biolink was removed from the weapon and I can now hand it back to it's rightful owner.

I'm going to forward this thread to Wes, I think this is a serious issue that needs to be brought to the Dev's attention, especially if there really wasn't a confirmation as I believe there wasn't.

Have the devs fix the bug maybe? Oh, I forgot, they don't fix smuggler bugs.

Wes could you ask them for a way to break the link? I had to destroy a 2 million credit pistol when I decided to retire Keck because my new guy can't use it.
