Thread: I think it's kinda sad, really.

Having just used "Dev Tracker" to find if a Dev has been on this board, as promised by JustG, to spend time with us. I found a post by GreenMarine which was three lines long, in relation to the Outdoorsman proposal. Today is Sunday, a new week has started. I personally feel lied too yet again. Someone in another thread said we should wait til day 12 before respectfully bringing up the lack of a kept promise - As stated many times before, come day twelve, I'd probably have been fired. I'm not seething angry, my face isn't red and I can barely contain me rage, so let's not think I'm gone off the deep end. I've always beleved that in the world of MMO(RP)Gs, as long as you're still paying subcription fees, you're under a companies hook. I've always believed companies don't believe they have to do anything for you that they don't want to while you still pay. Personally, I believe the same to be true here. Maybe they've been busy working on more Holo Emotes or something, I don't know. Checking Dev Tracker though, there does appear to be a lot of posts in "Jedi" forums.

Its what I expected. People commented on the fact that my reminding the community that they made a promise and appeared to not be following through with it was not healthy. Well, here it is, Monday morning. Not another post from a red name, and certainly nothing that would indicate they were spending time with us to work out what the heck our profession will become.

Most people have stopped giving them second chances. We've had a lot of people cancel or switch professions. Lets face the facts, JustG lied to us, TH lied to us, and Q-3PO lied to us. Repeatedly. And what can we do about it? Well, that is a hot topic for debate. Not much is the true answer. We can't force them to work on this profession. We can't shame them into it (they would have to feel shame to have that work.) Bottom line, as long as you pay the 15 bucks a month, they don't care what you do, how mad you are, if you are having fun or if you are miserable. They get your money regardless of how you feel.

If you are really angry and want to cast a vote, then vote with your wallet. And that statement goes for me, too. When I feel that I've been wronged enough, I will probably follow solo4114, EN, Caylin, Dreven and the rest. I've not been around since day 2, so I've probably got a little more time to let the annoyance build up. I've decided to stick around to see JTL, and to see just how much more this profession will get kicked around.

Maybe we should start a pool about which month we will see our revamp. I call December 2005. I know, I know, ever the foolish optimist.

The reason I made that statement is that for any job you start you get a two week breather before anything you're really held accountable for anything. Basically I'm saying we should give them a breather since we've been giving them hell for days on end in that thread. My feeling is that if you continuously go to that thread to post your frustrations or express your doubt, you'll just make yourself angry all over again when you see posts detailing when we received a developer's response.

These guys are human which means they're fallible. JustG made a statement and judging how he worded his thoughts, not the edited post done by Jeassa, I believe he was sincere. There seemed to be a hint that he and the other developers knew they weren't holding up their end and were a bit frustrated at how they're going about things (or maybe frustrated at they're shortcomings being called out). Either way, I feel that they should be given some kind of reprieve before we start expecting something from them.

If they feel they will be received without malice then they should be able to give out some information or at least tell us that they haven't made and clear decisions on what to do and that we'd have to wait for an update. Let's face it, if they told us everything that went on then this game wouldn't have been released at all because we'd all find something wrong with it.

In terms of the game, it's new years eve. They have a chance to step up and do what they've been saying they will do. I know a lot of people have said any kind of communication would be better than nothing so let's give them a chance to absorb that thought without bombarding them with their failings everyday.

i wouldn't start complaining about the lack of interaction for another couple of months.. Yes it sucks, but fact of the matter is that they're working on a huge jedi revamp and gm is working on jtl.

I just hope they are ready to deal with what they have done. SOE is doing an amazing thing with the jedi Revamp's. They are really doing the testing/feedback thing right.....finally. I know I wish they had done the same thing with the Droid publish. DE could have used the kind of attention jedi are getting. And from this point on, you can bet that a lot of people, including me, will be using the jedi publishes, as the new "standard" by which SOE shoudl handle all future revamp/publishes. I want to see the Smuggler revamp follow the exact sma esteps, and have the exact same level of Dev involvement. I want to see 3 PAGES of solid Dev posts relating to the SMuggler revamp. I want to see them give any of us on Live the ability to instantly level a Smuggler on Test, and given a full range of supplies to be able to immedietaly playtest. Faction points, credits, resources, decent equipment, vehicles, etc...

This is my vote on how long stuff will take.

Jedi will never be a starting profession...Looted items and quest items will never be better then crafted items, this is not a loot based game...CH will return shortly...CH and BE will not be back in game...Rangers are getting their revamp next!...The stealth system will not be changing in the spy expertise...Need any more examples of things the devs said that did not hold true?

Have we not said time and time again "Talk to us - that's all we want." Good news, bad news, who CARES lets just hear the Devs uphold ONE promise to us. I'm not mad about it. I'm just a firm believer in if you're not happy, go, and that's why Im weighing up if waiting til Jedi is a good idea or not. I'm not flaming anyone here, because I agree that if they dont feel welcome, they wont come. But we sat for seven days, twiddling our thumbs like good boys and girls. Now is day nine. Like a lot of other posters have said "Something is better than nothing" and with that.
