Ive heard from a couple different folks recently that there is or will be a bonus to slicing for bothans. Any truth to this nasty rumor?

I have never heard this.
Bothans were good at smuggling, I never read they were good at slicing.

Actually, I seem to remember it the other way around. Bothans were always the ones intercepting data and decoding it.

Decoding data and cutting a red or blue wire is two different things

Being a Bothan MS,I can tell you that I have never seen any bonus to my slicing. I've never gone beyond the caps for armor and weapons in their respective catagories.
I am pretty sure that high ranking Bothan rebels get a better profit margin for sellingFaction Points as a MS. Maybe you were thinking of this "bonus"?

I'll back this up. Bothan Master smugglers get no additional bonuses for slicing.
However, as a Bothan Rebel Master Smuggler, you get an additional 10% for purchasing Factional Requisition items (like bases and armor). If you are a master smuggler, that equates to a whopping 25% discount on your rebel factional purchases!
It rules!

I thought all master smugglers got that 25%......even the human Imperials.

I think I know where this whole Bothan slice bonus came from. If Im not mistaken it was written in either that SWG guide or under the race description in character creation that said Bothans recieve a bonus to Investigation and slicing. Not sure where I saw it but I do know I did read it. However whether its true or not I dont know. As a bothan I have played both BH and smuggler (going back to smuggler ) and I have never seen any such bonus.

What I meant to say is that Bothan Rebel Master Smugglers get an additional 10% discount added to the standard Master Smuggler discount of 25% for a total of 35%.
