I know this would be much too difficult, but I had a sudden burst of inspiration tonight when some l337 d00d asked why I charge 7k when 3k is the going rate for slices. Here is the scenario.
Dude: Can you slice 3 rifles for me?
Me: 7k per slice.
Dude: What makes the slice so expensive?
Me: How much did you pay for the rifles?
Dude: How about this, 3k is the going rate for slices, i'll pay that.
Dude: I made them.
Me: How about this, how much do you sell the unsliced rifle for?
Dude: 372 creds.
Me: Very funny.
Dude: 75k unsliced.
Me (Quick math in my head) Well if I make it 25% better that is about 19k of the base price.
Dude: How about I talk to a real smuggler who doesn't charge outrageous price
Dude: Oh, and welcome to my ignore list
Me: Ok.
Me: Chuckle for a smuggler welcomes you, we're gonna like this one.
Dude: /denyservice
Me: Fine by me /denyservice
Dude: Why would I care, I don't wanna do buisness with you anyway.
Me: Ok /addignore
With that little bit of humor, I got thinking. Someone pays 1 mil for some krayt uber whatever. I make it 30% better. Shouldn't I get somewhere near 300k for making it 30% better? Heck, I would be happy with half the % price. Then we would actually be charging what our service was worth, and with the fact that the weapons are ILLEGAL, they shouldn't mind seeking out some shady character and paying a lot to make their weapon better. I dunno, I wish we could charge our % price for the weapon, but it would be too difficult to figure it all out. Well, I guess my little tantrum is over. Guess I'm just sick of people saying, slice my weapon for such and such a low price, then getting pissy when I refuse.
What do you think?

Exar I love the idea but I can hear the whining now.
"BUT BUT you were only charging XXk credits before. Why should I have to pay more now."

this is the exact reason why i dont wear my master title anymore. i dont like to deal with the winers.

I think I've posted the exact same idea before.
Just for fun, I'd like to try it out and see what would happen. Though, I seriously doubt it would go over well with the public...

Hmmm, I think I may give this a try and see how it works. Worse thing that could happen is that I quit slicing for people I don't know, but I am already at that point anyway.

Yep. That's the problem. Everyone is so "pampered" by now with the low prices we have that they complain when we raise them.

You can always go /anon and just deal with people in the immediate area.
