1. It's not a pain to grind
In order to grind smuggler, all you need is pistol and combat xp. Pretty sweet deal i think, considering what you get from it.
2. It is a completely versatile profession
So you're a smuggler. The possibilities are endless. If you want to craft, you make spices. If you wanna hoard money, you slice. If you wanna fight, you go out and show everybody what crowd control really is.
3. Feign Death
This is hands down the most useful and life saving skill non-healing skill in the game. I used it to solo the warren at CL 50-something. While everybody else is getting their butts handed to them, you just lay down for a little nap.
4. Slicing
Besides giving you an edge in combat, this skill is great for making money. Most people who want some slicing done don't really understand what goes into the process, and thus don't understand how much it costs us to do it (Go make friends with a bounty hunter and he'llsupply you with core boosters and triggers for free). You don't even have to waste time spamming the MO to make money like all the crafters do, because when people see the "Master Smuggler" tag above your name, they'll come runnin up to you beggin to give you their money.
Okay, so can't actually 'smuggle' things around in the game, but we have a very useful template for making money, kickin butt, and most importantly, surviving.

No, smuggler is the best profession because smugglers are HAWT.
Ignored, abused, despised, banned, neglected, shunned, mocked, scoffed at, slapped around, and nerfed to hell....

Okay, so can't actually 'smuggle' things around in the game, but we have a very useful template for making money, kickin butt, and most importantly, surviving.
