You askthe Smiths aquestion and you're flooded with helpful numbers, figures, hypotheses, testing data, opinion, counteropinion, counter evidence, counter-counter reseacrh data, counter-counter-counter theory, that's countered itself by code revealed fom the patch update etc
Umm, yeah, so...
What is the deal with damage types andarmour?
Is Recon more effective against Energy, Battle both, and Assault Kinetic? And do mobs have vulnerabilities? If so how do we find out what they are?

recon > energy < kinetic
battle = balanced
assualt <energy > kinetic
mobs have vulnerablities but due to a display bug no one can currently see them

It's good and stuff. No on a serious note, I imagine it's like EQII now (where the armor is simply given a numerical value that does indeed have true meaning but simply boils down to "higher is better" from a laymen's view).
Insofar as a 6100 Energy ratingblocks "X" amount and/or percent more energy damage thana 2500 Energy protection rating.

[edited in] Also, from what I can figure so far, 6100 Energy rating would equate to 61% effectivness versus energy (and so forth).
6100 = 61%
5800 = 58%
Pi xr squared = 3.14%

the %ages aren't as direct as that... instead they all fall on a curve...
Ripped form the "info for customers" sticky in the AS forum...
1000 = 10.5%
2000 = 20.0%
3000 = 28.5%
4000 = 36.0%
5000 = 42.5%
6000 = 48.0%
7000 = 52.5%
8000 = 56.0%
9000 = 58.5%
10000 = 60%

Mobs have vulnerabilities? NPCs and critters? And we can't see them because of a display bug?
Is there acknowledgment of that anywhere by an SOE rep? I must have missed it if there was. This has been one of my biggest complaints about the "Upgrade!" -- I naively assumed that if there were vulnerabilites they would be displayed for us OR we would be told they had them but we had to figure out what they were by experimenting (and that this would be part of the information on the new system -- and don't get me started on the lack of DOCUMENTATION for this game LOL).
Is there a list of mobs and their vulnerabilities anywhere? Are they the same vulnerabilites as before (i.e. Kimos were vulnerable to kinetic before the "Upgrade")?
Thanks! If this is true -- all I can say is "Yay!" I might actually have to begin using several different weapons again...

With that said, if you'll stop slicing terms to sick BHs on my a$$, then send me a tell in-game (Corbanits Galaxy) and I'll cut ya a deal.

I thoughtone needed to have some scout skills beforeone would start seeing critters' vulnerabilities. I guess that changed?

Thread cross-references are cool heh
There was another armour/weapon question I had, but for the life of me I can't remember it.

Even scouts can't see anything. My MCH on Eclipse (Scout 4.0.4.4.) can't get the info.
