Here are some answers to questions asked that I've been allowed, indeed encouraged, to share with you all , (text in red courtesy of the Dev team).

  • Slices are borked: Some slices are giving either 0% or negative results (i.e. -4%); Is anything planned to address this in a hotfix, or is it going to have to wait until the In Concept Smuggler changes go into effect? Furthermore, is this intended (i.e. as slicing is supposed to be able to "top up" an item to its maximum potential); is the problem that weapons/armour are being crafted out of balance/above the max potential, or is it that the max potential needs tweaking for weapons?

Significant changes and adjustments to the slicing system are coming soon. These issues should disappear at that time.

  • In the CU design documents, Smuggler was billed as Offense: Moderate (3), Defense: Minimal (1), Crowd Control: Very Strong (5). Does this design premis still hold true (if not, what is Smuggler supposed to be?) and does the team feel that (once the specials are fixed) the profession will live up to this (or whatever the alternative is)?

Those were the guidelines we used when creating and balancing smuggler abilities. Hopefully we hit the mark. What are your impressions?

  • Slicing XP has been entirely removed from the game. Will we see it return in a hotfix or with the implementation of the new slicing game?

Slicing XP has been permanently removed.

1 and 3 smell like revamp. Wish they'd be a LITTLE more specific.

My impression with #2 is: I'd be content with smuggler abilities if Low Blow did a KD. Then we'd be a 5. I'm sure others have their opinions -- that's just mine.

Yeah, is there any way we can get a better answer on the slicing question?? Significant changes? Soon? this could be weeks.. month or 2, in the meantime what are we supossed to do? I would like to be able to slice stuff but am too afraid of a 0 or negative slice that will not be fixed later? If this is not working as intended, then we need more of a definate answer on when it will be fixed as it is REALLY screwed up as it is right now.

As far as I am aware the smuggler revamp is slated for immediately after the ROTW expansion.

#1. Ok so slicing is borked, will stuff thats been sliced in the last couple days be adjusted when they fix it or, will it be resliceable again, or are we just out of luck?

#2.Offense:Moderate (3), Defense: Minimal (1), Crowd Control: Very Strong (5)
---Offense: I believe is acurate. I dont hit for alot, but I do hit ok. Seems bout right.
---Defense: I believe is about right. I can take hits, but not for long at all. I go down pretty fast.
---Crowd Control: I believe is near to being right. Once all the specials are working as intended it should be right. Right now we have good control over how stuff goes in the battle.

#3 Why? Besides how do you learn to craft spice, and slice a gun by shooting a pistol?

Overall I'm happy with the CU. Its made combat fun and not so boring. Big improvement IMO.

which isbefore the CU fix.. after the ROTW/CU fix publish.. followed by a jedi "rererevampalangrade" (a revamp mixed with a rebalance of an upgradeof a revamp).. and probably a publish or two after that (more fixes) will we see smuggler revamp.

Couple of buddies and I are taking bets on that exact sequence, anyone else want in?

Ok, now that slicing exp has been removed what will become of those of us who were grinding the luck tree? So now are we completely unable to get any luck, which in my opinion is one FS skill smuggler's should have.

Wow... could they say any more with anything less?

I mean 3 answers that answer nothing. Well, maybe 2 answers that answer nothing. 1 that tells us slicing xp is totally gone... so much for FS conversion for slicing.

PS- Thanks Wes.

"Jedi claims of being "broken" are like saying "But my TV isn't widescreen! It's broken! My TV can't show high-def pictures in 1080i, it can only do 720i! It's broken!" Meanwhile, crafters are saying "We'd really like to have a TV that's larger than 12" and gets more than 4 channels and doesn't constantly lose vertical control", and entertainers are saying "Can we get some color instead of this B&W piece of junk?" And smugglers? We're listening to radio programs of "The Shadow" and "The Abbot and Costello Comedy Hour" and hearing FDR's Fireside Chats. We don't even HAVE a damn TV, much less a broken one or a "broken" one by Jedi standards. I'd LOVE to be as "broken" as they are." - The Legendary Solo4114

This almost makes me want to quit.

I can deal with the other nonsense, but this is akin to them removingBH XP in the Investigationline and replacing it with carbine XP.

Hey Zane, like your new sig. lol

Honest, the yellow ribbon sigs are just too numerous right now, I was telling a PA mate yesterday that I was seriously thinking about making a sig to mock that phenomenom, but I saw a few did already, beating me to it. lol
