Thread: Are the Devs Listening to You on Slicing?

That gives me alot of hope. 1) How long have we been promised a revamp? 2) The first part? Are smuggler's that messed up that we'll need more than one!?!

It's funny. The thing I loved even more than getting new equipment was the joy of the slice gamble. So now I am waiting for slicing to be fixed. What is the present word on it?

i've come to somewhat accept slicing right now. weapons still differ just not so extremely as in preCU. like now just 10-20 points more dmg is alot postCU. but those points willstill give you a slight upperhand in the end. equipment still makes a difference, just not so extreme. Having 35% slices all over the range lev of weps will knock off balance- people will be soloing to easy again.
I'm not against solo but I feel it should be a good challenge, not just blast a couple high powered shots off to incap a red. If you have a 35% damage slice on a Renegade you could just reckless shot/body shotsomething awaytoo easy, and solo becomes like it was preCU-cheesey.
The range of whats good of weapon stats has just become much narrower, but in the end that small difference can still matter- your 10% slice is way better than the 8%. A 2% or even 1% factor is now relevant in the CU. IMO you can still have a better gun than the next guy, but its onlyby 10's of points betternow, not hundreds of points of damage, but its still better than the other guys.
Its still a difference now when everyone is limited to smaller ranges of whats better since everyone is limited in dmg's. I do see their logic right now with capping slicing. Their trying to change the game drasticly away from who has the most powerful equipment with the hottest sliceto who knows their tactics better. Not trying to troll by saying this but I kinda like that. It makes me more interested in PVP now.
I still shop for the best renegade, i spent 1/2 a million on mine. It was better than all the others I had seen, but not extremely better but still it was the best renegade I'd seen. PreCU it would have been idiotic to spend that much more on a wep thats only 50 points more dmg, .2 faster, but now 50 points or .2 fasteris worth spendingextra on, plus it had accuracy bonus of 17 and was energy.
If they do make slicing like it used to be- all random no caps- I wont complain but I can see their logic as of now except negative slices which I havent had yet.

1. I guess it's officially September, but they've been promising to add smuggling to the game since beta...
2. Does vader have a robot.................... hand? (I'm not getting this one banned too )
