Nothing is better than scouting out a city for enemies than having two or three come after you than concussioning them then pulling your bike and getting the hell outta dodge.


It's also great when you are being beaten on by 5 enemy players and you fake your death, ahahahahaaaaa.


When players cannot get to you or turn you into a corpse, it REALLY can STEAM them, ahahahahahaahaaa

I agree more than ever, slicing and spicing doesn't do the trick anymore, but the specials......*droooool*

Smuggler skills in PvP are about annoying the hell out of your enemies, rather than actually beating them(though I can beat most given enough time).

Was watching tv last night, "our favorite smuggler show" The Train heist. At the end of it is the part I liked the best. Standing in front of the big baddie, Offering to give his money back being threatened with death. He kicks him backwards into the engine. Brings up big baddie's buddy, offers him the money who gladly accepts it happy not to become minced meat.

Persuasion would be up to us, don't need any skills. Make it so the 'customs agent' or what have you gives you a choice of replies, and if you make the wrong one, or fool around, he will call his buddies on you. The degree to which you make him unhappy will alter how many CL (your level - 10) stormies will come after you. Either beat them, convince/threaten the agent to let you past, or drop your cargo and run. And taking hostages would be sucha cool ability. No idea how they'd incorporate it though. Maybe they can take a few looks at Metal Gear Solid and see how you do it in there.



And Firefly > all. Serenity will kick ass too. Maybe if enough people watch it on sci-fi, and enough people buy the DVDs, and enough people see Serenity, we'll get new Firefly episodes to watch with our Battlestar Galactica goodness?

Theres nothing like been half way thourgh a duel to concussion shot them, run up to the and hug them, heal up then carry on shooting.

It was using techniques like these that allowed me to solo the Corvette. I was smart enough not to aggro ANYONE but the SBDs by going civilian (which takes 5 minutes) and going up before timer was over.


Once up- I would only aggro SBDs and FD came in DAMN handy up there. Concuss was good for when I got up and ran from Nova Troopers.


I would run through a group of STs, ATSTs- and just being smart and using my skills kept me alive more times than I can count.


I love our skills. If only there was someway to initiate some kind of smuggling on our own- since SOE clearly does not want us to smuggle.


Maybe they don't want us to smuggle BECAUSE no one can catch us and they don't want to deal with the head ache of people screaming to nerf us.

You know what would be the ULTIMATE smuggler revamp? Nay, smuggler revamp wouldn't encompass its title... Imagine, if they made great, exicing, and enjoyable smuggler missions for smugglers to do... Sure, they have NCP one's, but also, they have the PvP one's... Who would be the security forces to get past? Why the Squad Leader's of course! Them and the Commandos will team up doing "Security Missions" to counteract the "Smuggler Missions". It will be a test of finding who is smuggling, and what they are smuggling, and how to get them before they deliver. In this case, gank squads of 7 Commandos and 1 Squad Leader are okay, because a Smuggler can handle a pack like that and get away... But, if they fail the mission, then a Bounty Hunter gets on their tale! But for this kind of PvP, SpyNet informants aren't going to be good enough to catch these players... They will have to hire a player... Who do they hire? Why a Ranger of course! Who else could track a person down? Who else could "know the land" enough to find footprints and DNA? Rangers would have special "Informant" missions to do, and report where the smuggler is to the Bounty Hunter, who will then procede to trying to find, and attempting to catch the greasy, slippery smuggler, who always seems to get away... This would be the ultimate revamp, for everyone who's been left out, and those who haven't. Except for Entertainers of course, and Crafters... But at least Ranger and Squad Leader get some love. Now, I know this would never, EVER, EVER, EVER happen... And to be fair, this kind of change wouldn't even happen in a game that did care about the playerbase. But it still would be cool to solve everyones problems with a centered system like this.

That is a good point... We don't beat them neccessarily... We just annoy them, which is just as good if not better. We're like Bugs Bunny in combat.


Feign Death:


Them: I got you! You're dead!


Smuggler: No you didn't! *FD*


Restraining Shot:


Them: I can catch you!


Smuggler: No you can't! *RS*


Concussion Shot:


Them: I'm slow but I can still attack you!


Smuggler: No you can't! *CS*


Last Ditch:


Them: I've almost killed you and I'm still alive!


Smuggler: No you haven't, and no you aren't! *LD*



We can play the part of coward pretty well... But it fits into our whole persona doesn't it? I mean, if we actualy COULD smuggle, getting away alive would be our primary concern. I would love to be faced with 10 level 70 stormies, have a split second to think, then WHAMO! Daze them all and run away, restraining the stragglers. Also, it would be sweet if we could be hunted by BH's because, well... No one could catch us! Lol!

Yea, EXACTLY. I find that with smuggler skills, I can run through a group of enemy players and have a good chance of surviving.


You aren't going to beat ANYONE up with these evasive smuggler skills likePanic, Concussion, Feign Death, but you WILL SAVE YOUR ASS.

The more and more I play a smuggler, the more I am REALLY LOVING the skills the devs gave us. I think our combat skills are SPOT ON PERFECT!!!
