I'm trying to figure out a way to be doing something like...Smuggling...that way- while I'm doing it I'll have Bounty Hunters coming after me (cause of my visibility).
I just want something new to do in game. I LIKE combat alot but hunting is really old and pointless. I could give a sh!t about most of the ingame items (wouldn't mind a AV-21 though, 
), I've already done the crafter thing and the GCW- pffft! Forgetaboutit.
I wanna have a second character as well- I'll probably make a PokemonSpy out of him (some mix of MCH/Smuggler/Rifleman Imperial who sells information).
Sooooo, I'm gonna do it. Get down and suck at the Jedi teet with everyone else who plays this game.
It's either that or take up CoH.
and I am very tempted to take up CoH.
Yeah, Tevin and I were discussing this when we were getting ready for a vette run Thursday night.
With that being said, I'll make my confession. I too will be going that route. Sooner than HOTDOG though.
Since I moved to the Radiant server (bringing some old friends with me and some new ones to the game) I mastered Smuggler and created a nice little group and business. In the process of helping just about 3/4 of my friends get glowie, I myself felt the force. I figured what the hell, nothing like a little luck for a Smuggler. So I did that mission, and walked away from the village. A few months later I went to help some friends get their missions done. Once again, I figured what the hell, this time a little extra defense wouldn't hurt. Then I realised there's another defense tree the next phase and go for that. Now I'm sitting there looking at some ranged bonuses. I do them too. I have all kinds of xp, 4 unlocks, and was faced with a dilema.
So I made the plunge. The next shift of the village I will have completed my 6 branches, taking longer than most because I never "focused" on getting Jedi. It kind of just happened. Had I been shooting for Jedi, I would have been one long ago. I really hope this doesn't disappoint anyone. Smuggler at heart is what I'll always be.
Why did I do it? Simply put, what else was there to do? With so little development going to other things, it's a natural draw to someone like me. I like to try all kinds of things in the game. I have an Imperial on one server, and I played a Rebel on Radiant for awhile until I wanted to be the neutral business man working for the highest bidder. I've crafted, I've had a split template, and I have a solely for combat template now. I'm a guild leader, and now even have a small city.
The reason I state all this is to point out one huge thing. Everyone would not be Jedi if there were simply things in game to do. If we had our smuggling missions, I would not have been doing other quests. If there was an underworld, with continuous quests, I would not have been doing village quests. If there was a better functioning GCW with neutral/underworld interaction, I would have either joined a side or played my role in the middle. If they could just put as much effort into the game that EVERYONE plays instead of just one portion of it, people wouldn't be leaving, and there wouldn't be so much hate directed in that area.
PS- I will be putting up a RP story about my switch, and I'm trying to get some of my friends to act it out. Because it involves some of them dieing (one of which is a Jedi) so they're hesitant... Don't worry, I'll get them to come around. And don't fear, I won't be gone too long from the profession. My new character will be Zane's little brother, coming in to pick up where he left off. I'll probably even grind him up quicker than I'll work on Zane's Jedi skills.

Everyone I knew who said that was a L33TD3WD in less than two months after the statement. Just FYI.

I figured out that I can keep MSmug/MBH/Novice Commando and get padawann- (if it doesn't cost any points) This way I can still earn visibility. If I'm wrong about that I know that I can drop one line of BH and pick up Novice something (probably Defender) plus 1 box.
Either way. We all know that this is a slippery slope to Jedi.
Going in game now Zane. Gonna look for you, some NPC bounties and, of course, that old dude.

I'm at the in laws this weekend, and going in game on my laptop is painful at best. I'll catch you another time though.

And I will hunt you as I don't have any plans of dropping MBH/MSMUG/or Novice Commando- I can keep all of that if Padawan doesn't cost any points.
A really hardcore Bounty Mark killed me last night so I MIGHT have a minor set back in my path. The rumor is if you die before the old man comes you lose a step. I'll need to check tonight.
