Thread: How often do Simple toolkits drop?

I went on a killing spree, and got no simple toolkits for my efforts. I was doing mercenary missions on Lok. Then I tried killing rebel NPCs as someone had mentioned that those were dropping simple toolkits. No luck there either. How often do these things drop? Where is the best place to find them?

Short answer: Much less often than the higher end components, for some idiotic reason.

Ill tell you ifi EVER find one!
At the moment im more and more pleased most of my upgrade kits converted to simple and fine toolkits because i have yet to loot either of these.

I've seen a few on sale at Nyms place for 2k each, so someone must be finding them.

I have yet to loot one or have a guildie loot one (they give me everything... literally). BUT I have gotten 2 out of different locked containers. What I'm worried about is the Finely Crafted myself. Of the 1k items I transformed I got like 30 Finely crafted and I'm running low just occasionally slicing.

MSmuggler, a couple of times over, that since launch has only been able to smuggle plums.

I bought 10 on the Bazaar for 2k a piece,which is better than having to do it yourself!

just on a short note:
NPC faction drops are tied to your rank too. The higher your rank the "better" your loot.

Adding from my own experience.
I was a long time Lt. Col and looted several CA and AA from lvl 32 Dark Troopers at the Detainment Center while my friend already a Colonel looted a lot of holocrons. Now I advanced to Colonel too I do get Holocrons but no CAs or AAs anymore.

I looted one off of a stormie somewhere. it was in a locked container.
