Thread: Issue with concussion shot

I was in the ryatt trails last night doing the quest for the proton carbine. At one point I had 3 of those things you gotta kill for the quest(cant remember the name) agro on me. my health was getting down, so I thought id pull out the trustly PFT and do concussiojn shot with an AOE weapon. I know AOE only damages the target, but the states are supposed to affect the others as well as the target. Not so in this case.
I thought, mabe they wree not close enough, so after barly killing those 3, I went up to a group of annother 3, and agroerd them all with the PFT. concussion gave same effect again, just the target got rooted. The others stayed on me. And on top of all that, I had tried FD on 3 different occations, faile every time. Does FD work at all?
Any insight to this?

FD works all the time for me i'v only failed 1 time and i;v used it like 200 times

AoE weapons do not guarantee that all potential targets will recieve the state effect you're trying to use. They simply give you the chance that other targets within range will recieve a state. DOT weapons are not what you should use to place a Concussion shot, because if the DOT sticks, then the effected NPCs will be free as soon as they take damage from the DOT.

Actually the reason I picked the PFT is because the DOT hardly ever sticks. I can set NPC's of fire better with my LBC. Oh well. prob need to try it more to get a better comparison of hit and miss.
