I've been really bored with things lately, seems like I don't have much to do besides log in, sit around and talk with people and reorganize my houses. Been so bored lately that I've been thinking about grinding the profession that shall not be named.

Someone help me, please.

do it man, no sense spending time playing a game you hate. It's supposed to be fun! Drop smuggler man!

Don't give in to the Dark Side. If you're bored already, then grinding you-know-what at best only postpones the inevitable, and at worst lets you quit the game that much faster in disgust.

It's just a mindless grind, and at the end of it you'll be exactly where you are now: bored and with nothing to do.

So if you can't find anything now to keep you occupied and interesting, that won't change only because you're waving an overpowered flashlight around...

I've sooo been there.

I found a new lease of life in space. I dropped my Master pilot and set out on trying to get the other 8 ace badges.

Plus I ditched BH and went Master Shipwright. I still have my Smuggler skills and titles, not that I really use them much other than preventing me getting toasted when surveying for resources, but I'd never really gone the path of the crafter before, and it's something new and fun.

Plus with the thrill of blasting crud in space, REing components and other space fun, I'm enjoying all my time when I play. If I'm getting tired of space, then I just hit the crafting and sell stuff. And vice versa.

As has already been said, if you're not having fun, make a change until you are. I was quite happy with my previous character build - MBH, MS, some Commando and Pistoleer, but in all honesty it was limiting what I was doing and I was stagnating. So I shook it up.

Dare I say it, but one of the truly great things about this game is the ability to be what you want, and change your toon at a moment's notice. The only thing tying you into a profession is yourself.

Saying that, I'm sure I could get better bang for my SP cost outside of Smuggler, but I just can't bring myself to drop it

I'm also playing other games more as well. Guild Wars is free and a nice diversion, not the depth of SWG, but it's nice to take a break.

I've also just sorted out my City Of Heroes problems, so I'll be popping in there too.

Hope that helps

Jedi is no more fun than any other profession unless YOU make it fun. Jedi will not make you uber at PVP or a PVE god, it will cost you millions to get a good weapon if/when the pearls/crystals drop again and take you hours of monotonous grinding to get there.

As the above poster said try something completely different, set goals in game that will keep you occupied and are viable, if jedi is something you want to try then do so but do it in conjunction with other things not just pure grind with nothing else. People treat jedi as an endgame which it isnt and bored non jedi who grind end up being bored jedi.

Sounds about right. Play the profession that SOE has put the most time into, and be bored. Play a profession that SOE has put no time into, and be equally as bored. Seems like the only fun thing to do is space, and frankly, after 4 Ace badges and starting my 5th...I'm getting pretty bored of that too. Even the BH missions that I just started doing this weekend I'm already bored of.

I want some puzzles. I want some risk. I don't want 'Ok, well here's the information I have, although I have no idea where this pilot has gone!' and then openning up my journal to find 'psst. go here, do this. you will be happy.'

I hope smuggler content (hah) will be more than get this, take this here, come back, maybe or maybe not fight along the way, get the same old prize everyone else got.

Hey, you can come hang out with me. When the game gets boring, Roleplaying can make it fun again. Grinding is dull, loot get boring, money is easy, but getting cornered in a star port by a guy you're supposed to kill, only he's got two of his toughest goons with him, and he's still kinda mad about the time you set him on fire and laughed at him, them smiling and running away and barely managing to scramble onto your swoop before he can catch up and start shooting, then having to drive all the way to Bestine to catch a shuttle of world....that can be fun.

I have 3 accounts. One Jedi whose alt I haven't ground out yet, one Smuggler (my main and first account) and one MBH. My MBH is basically just loot whoring the new marks to get $$ and supplies for my smuggler. A friend of mine and I are creating Smuggler content for ourselves on Ahazi. Look up Untouchable Exports if you're on Ahazi. Haven't touched my Jedi in over a week now.

As someone else put it, if you're bored now then grinding out the "alpha" class isn't going to help you at all.

I've had people disagree with me before, but space is never boring for me. There's always some mission to do out there.

And even if you don't want to do a mission, there's a spot in Endor space thats always interesting. Tier 4 and 5 ships, smaller than an a-wing and manuverable as hell, sometimes swarming on you 5, 10, 15 at a time. Agressive, fast, and vicious. Fighting them is not only a great way to hone your skills, its a bonofide CHALLENGE. Not to mention perfecting a Vette killing technique, facing off against tier 5 gunboats in Kessel, or the always fun flying into a mass of tier 1 ships and seeing how many you can kill with a single epulse.
