just wondering if this will indeed happen and maby some guesses on how log it will take cause i was thinkiung of useing my token respec to respec to Master smuggler master doc......just thought id ask the vets........and i have ben a smuggler per cu

When you do your first smuggling run...then you can smuggle. Until that moment happens I've got plenty of salt if you need a grain or two.

I am rather dissapointed really.
Master Smuggler was what I wanted when I first started playing.
Smugglers will get a revamp the DEVs said
Smugglers will get some love the DEVs said
Smugglers will be revamped after the Chef Revamp the DEVs said.

So I quit playing after being burnedout on hologrinding.
14 months later I see the BIG Smuggler revamp was to change all skillbox exp to Pistols, gone are slicing and spice crafting exp.

14 months is a LOOOONG time for smugglers to get some help to their profession, expecially after promises by Devs was made.

Thgen again, 14+ months after chef revamp is still technically *after*.

okay yea it's coming, within 6-7 months we should be fully revamped.

But it's NOT smuggling how we asked for it....

Yeah, except that if it takes that long then there will be more major updates that get put in front of us as priority.


And, if it takes that long, I won't be here to see it.


I'm starting to resign myself to the likelihood that I'll be gone after July.

what i dont get is, after Jedi, smugglers are the most preeminent profession in the movies with Han Solo being the figurehead. How the hell can this game be called Star Wars and not have a legitimate smuggling proffession especially now that JTL has been out for almost 8 months? Shouldnt smugglers be making the Kessel run, trying to avoid Imperial entanglements, getting their "cargo" to its destination with least amount of discretion by now? There are no smuggling aspects that i can find in this game and smuggling seems to be a dead proffession.


Even in the begining days, smuggling wasnt supposed to be about sitting in a crowded area shouting, "Will mod your weapon for 10k. Also unlocking containers for 1k." Wth is that? Lets announce to the world that your a smuggler. Great RPing there.


Im dissappointed in the way JEdi vs BH has become the preeminant PvP experience in this game when its supposed to be BH vs Smuggler as the SW universe shows over and over.

I'd prefer that Smuggler vs. BH wasn't the Smuggler fighting the BH to the death. More along the lines of "BH is here!?!?" and run like hell. You get points for escaping, or the BH gets points for killing you. There's more than a few MDef Jedi/BH out there...ain't no way in hell you're one-shotting that Greedo.


Give the Smuggler some form of evasion requirement. Something like "evade BH for 20 minutes" or you could just fight him. Be a shame to see a flock of CL 80 BH's swoop down on Nov Smugglers. At least Padawans have their original professions to fall back on. A CL 18-20 Nov Smuggler isn't exactly what I'd call "combat effective". By giving them an escape option you still can make it fun and smugglery.

Who knows? But I don't honest see how we can expect much out of it. Anyone bounty-hunted lately? How much fun was that after the 3rd time? It can't be all that complex and exciting (or particularly profitable), otherwise it'd be considered unbalanced an unfair by other professions. The need for universal gameplay is so high that they can't write up something really cool and complex and then make it exclusive to us. The rest of the playerbase would rebel.


So I wouldn't hold my breath.
