Hi Bingo!

Bingo the Clowno!

V E E L A "her royal hawtness"
I am Jack's Smirking Revenge. I am Jack's Ignored Profession.
Theed was a bustling commerce city...people hawked their wares, danced, laughed, dueled, and had a rollicking good time. Cantinas packed with Entertainers of every race, shape and size...along with scoundrels, Stormtroopers, and drunks. People grouped up and stuck together in the wilderness, and you ALWAYS took a Scout or a Ranger with you. We lived our own Star Wars saga. We created our own personas, our own histories, and it all blended into this wonderful, magical experience that I will always remember...

That magic is gone now, but I'd pay 50 bucks a month to have it back.

Editor's Note: The author of the above post has quit giving SOE her money. She suggests you do the same, because this game will never be what you want it to be.

Tiggs or TH or whoever, print this out and hand it to all the idiot bigwigs. they can read through this all they want and try to tear it apart, but the logic is there. there is absolutely no reason that we should not get a real smuggling system and we should get it NOW. we've done all the concept work, you just have to do the coding. now get to work.

Lets see how they respond to this debacle they gave us after the weekend. I'm expecting something to be said Monday, if not its just bad buisness.

That's right, not only has this community proposed far greater systems, but the devs themselves have proposed better. Why is this lame proposition now acceptable. They are capable of more, and we have supplied them with simple ideas that are far better than this crap. They have used excuses like it would take JTL to complete the Smuggler profession, and they still don't have space as part of their proposals. Seriously, what they are proposing is quite ridiculous when you look at past statements, past intentions, and past ideas.

Sorry to 'argue' with you, but it is obviously not beneath them, as that is what they are planning to implement.

If it was beneath them, they wouldn't do it.

Bug fixes. Heh! Smuggling. Heh! A Jedi craves not these things.

My SWG Observations

If they stopped the expansions for one year and gave quality revamps to the professions that need it most, many people would resubscribe.
With all the resubs, and the new players, there would then be plenty of money to hire enough people to do 2-4 quality revamps per year plus 1-2 larger expansions per year and/or 2-4 smaller expansions per year, and not give the BigWigs a pay cut. (Possibly even an increase)

So....yeah. I agree on both the above quoted posts.

It's not beneath their level of training and technical abilities.

The people that have those skills are the coders and programmers.
They can only do what they have been told to do.

The people in charge are the ones that have no clue.
They see it as 'if we $pend all our time on revamp$ and fixing bug$, that won't generate new player$'.
They think they need 2-3 new expansions each year to continue the flow of money to their pockets.

I do understand that they wanted the movie tie-in, and that's fine, but what they should have done was combine both expansions into one and released it with the DVD, or started much sooner and done it with the theater release.
Monetarily, the theater release would be better, but functionally, the DVD release is more practical.
I'd bet that LA/George/whomever really wanted the two combined but were told it was technically impossible to do it by theater release, so now we have two expansions.

As I said in another post, if they would stop the expansions for a year and do massive bug fixes and 3-4 quality revamps for the professions that need it most, plenty of old subscribers would return (even with the CU still in place), then they would be in a financial position to do 1-2 great, or 2-4 medium sized (or some combo of) expansions per year, and still have money and people left to further revamp and fix bugs.

I fail to see how they can not comprehend that.

Wait, wait, wait, WAIT. If it's bad business to not say anything by monday, how can you possibly expect anything but?!? The OP summed up my views perfectly, this "revamp" proposal *isn't* better than the status quo. At least now we're (supposedly) next in line. Hell, leaving everything the way it is and letting us slice locked briefcases would be more exciting news than this pile of horsecrap. Modbot this!

Both accounts cancelled. DnL & PotBS for me...
