To be honest, all ranged professions go good with smuggler. Each has something unique to offer. Decide on what you want out of it, then ask.

Well, sounds like you should take a look at rifleman then, most master level rifles are 65m range. Add the ranged arms to that, and that's some pretty good distance.

im smuggler/BH, u wont be able to get enough rifles to do u any good with that temp

I'm mstr commando/mstr smuggler and have awesome area attacks inc area root and snare.

With the supposedly commando lovings arriving with ToOW, should be even better.

I'm Master Smuggler/Pistoleer just because that's what I had in addition to Teras Kasi pre-CU. I've gone through a number of dabbling and support options, Medic, Commando, Bounty Hunter... got drunk and ended updancing for awhile too... if you can call that dancing...

I am Master Smugg/ MBH right now just so I can supply myself with the toolkits I need to slice or sell.
