Thread: Last respec chance, could use some advice.

I have one last chance to respec and thought I would see what you all thought of this template I have going, and if its possible to improve on it.


Master Smuggler/Master Rifleman, 0030 Carb (for the kd)

What I was thinking was, it might be helpful to have a backup root incase ours gets nerfed, so was thinking Master Smuggler/Rifleman, 0003 Pistols.


Any thoughts?

I think the Master Smuggler + Master ranged weapon of your choice is a good start, and mixing in the rest with carb or pistoleer as needed for accuracy or specials.

You will like the Charge Shot from Carbines. It seems to hit a bit more often than the Underhand shot from BH, the only downside is the animation that makes you run a couple meters closer to your target.

I did Master Smuggler, Master Carbineer (more crowd control and more damage than my former Master Pistoleer template) and Pistoleer 4400 for extra ranged speed and damage. If Concussion Shot gets whacked, I will go 4004, which should be pretty quick with my banked combat experience.

I am half tempted to stick with Master Smuggler/Carbineer only and add in some Scout for the terrain negotiation and harvesting, but that extra accuracy from the Pistoleer line really helps.

Charge shot makes you run 10m towards your target, unless you're within 10m and then you run right at them and back around in a circle until you've ran a total of 10m haha.
it is pretty silly, but a ranged KD is a ranged KD and it gets the job done.

you might want to think about fitting Master Marksman into your template.
i did it and noticed a nice increase in my ranged speed and accuracy. plus you're much more efficient with other types of ranged weapons which you don't focus your template on. (also you'll get /aim which if timed right and followed by Last Ditch can be a lethal combo)

i gave up my improved Charge shot from carbineer to pick up novice Commando for even more ranged speed and accuracy, plus some extra ranged/melee defense.

if they only made Low Blow back to being a KD, then i would drop Charge shot (keep novice Carbineer) and pick up novice Rifleman in its place.

I like the charged shot, but in essence all it does it like a PVE mob down and it gets up barely quick enough to get a shot off, whereas the Stopping shot roots the target in place for 12 seconds or so. Can only get 3 blocks in either prof so have been debating what to do.

ah well if you're only gonna PvE and not against ranged mobs, then drop Charge shot and get Stopping shot. they're very effective in holding a mob at bay so you can get some damage done.

but for PvP, KDs still seem to be pretty useful and a ranged KD is better than the upclose and personal Firearm Strike.

also a ranged KD is useful when fighting ranged mob/NPC.
