Thread: LOL! For My Smuggler Buds!
Back last September around the time when everyone was still guessing how to unlock your "mysterious" FS slot I made a post in the long-forgotten and shut-down SWG Discussion forum on the official site. It was about that old MTV Special about the kids with screwed up parents. One was the nudist partents, one was a rapping sub-uburn dad, and the last one was about the guy who's dad was an insane star wars geek.
It was on late one night so I made a post that September night last year in the old SWG Discussion forum. It was quickly one-starred and locked lol...check it out here: http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=Development&message.id=514741&highlight=mtv#M514741
Now, I was just on checking around the forums when I realized I had a new message. I read it and this is the exact copy of it:
I Just found your post, thought I would answer since you seem so interested.
Actually, I'm a Master Artisan/Merchant living in a City on Talus on the Kettemoor Server.
And no, I'm not a secret Jedi, I don't really get to play that much, I'm a partner in a Web Hosting company in Atlanta now and it keeps me quite busy. Although we (the guys at the office) do try and get on every day for a couple of hours at lunch. Advantage of owning part of the company, I can screw off all I want. But I'm not one for just sitting and grinding. Thats the wimpy way. That's what Imperials do
But you wouldn't believe how that MTV thing changed my life. Since it first was run, I have receive hundreds of phone calls and emails. I've been intereviewed and photographed, I get asked to do autograph sessions at some of the conventions, it's crazy.
Thanks for asking.
Kin-Char Bamin, The MTV Jedi.

Do you all remember that guy from that MTV special that was a Star Wars freak? It was on some show about kids who's parents were real messed up. Like there were the nudists parents, the white suburban shotty rapping dad, and the Star Wars Jedi dad with the hard-ass son.
I am the only person this could possibly happen to. Damn that is funny! And if you read my orginal post, I wasn't too far off on my guess.
The bad thing is I had to work a 4am-1pm today and I was SERIOUSLY tired when I read that...then I couldn't stop laughing...and I choked on my lemonade ![]()
Anywho, I dunno why I posted this. Probably because it was friggin funny (assuming it's real) and I always like to make our (as Smugglers) day a little better if I can
If I can do it with a laugh, all the better.

Actually, no. You need to free your mind and wake up from the Matrix. This is all in you head....
I knew he was out there...
Now, I need to root out Star Wars Kid and give him a pat on the back!

He he well I'm one of these guys myself and your story reminded me very much about myself when I met Admiral Motti too. I'm glad I didn't have a camera crew tailing me though lol
It's a ball of fun, and you feel just like a kid again. That's how it should be, don't forget the kid in you guys ![]()
He cried and cried and wanted revenge.
I dumped my whole personal life out for the world to see, and I had a blast.
We've even tried to get in touch with the Star Wars Kid to see if he wanted to get an autograph table with me at one of the conventions. Figured it would be a blast to have the Star Wars Kid and the MTV Jedi at one table. America's most famous "Star Wars Geeks" but they didn't want anything to do with being happy or sharing the joy of Star Wars with anyone, they wanted to sue everyone.
Anyone going to be at DragonCon here in Atlanta at the end of the month?
I'm thinking about going as my Jedi during the day and my SWG character at night (even made a prop CDEF Carbine).
Kin-Char
P.S. No offense was taken by the original post or any subsequent posts.
I have enjoyed the attention that I have gotten since the Episode Aired. Here it is two years later and we still talk about it and I still get recognized. Some people think I'm a total geek and have no life other than Star Wars (and thats fine), others are thrilled to meet me because they have made me they're idol (scary) or just because I said what they have wanted to say. Either way, it was one of the best experiences of my life, it made my son and I that much closer, I got to meet really cool people and most importantly, I get to hang out with the likes of Peter Mayhew, Richard LeParmentier, Ray Parks and those guys(oh yeah, And Spat too, if you've never met Spat, well.....maybe you're lucky). Ok, maybe that isn't the most important but, you got to admit, it's pretty cool.
