k as we know, non merchants will soon see their vendors removed.
as we know slicing is illegal and we shouldn't see sliced goods in malls and public places.
here's a solution that deserves to be discussed.
- Throw some illegal goods dealers NPCs, in some buildings, streets etc... hard to find.
- make them work like bazaar/vendors, smugglers only can use em to resell sliced goods, and they'll work as a network (like bazaar) with information on each other's stock. (you can even make em factionned so they'll know only bout same faction dealers's stock)
- Put a price cap of 2 millions cr (preventing misusage, and allowing high end stuff to be registered on) over those 2 millions you have to sell the item by yourself.
- make em harder to find, hidden in buildings etc... and randomly place imperial ST or cover agent around (you have a chance to be caught buying illegal goods) not on all in a perma way, but randomly near some of the dealers, maybe those with higher traffics.
- don't allow players to put illegal goods on regular vendors or bazaar, only smugglers would be able to do it, this will make regular people more dependant on smugglers if they want to sell illegal stuff or used sliced weapons.
- maybe make those NPC illegal goods dealers look like other regular NPCs (a noble) or (an artisan trainer) or whatever, like they're living double life or something.
This way, us smugglers can have a network of NPC retailers, buyers would know this dealer might have that smuggler's goods in it, I think it can be very immersive.
This way we get our non merchant vendors problem solved.
the idea's not bad I think, I'd like to have feedbacks on that one.

How about allowing smugglers to place thier own special illegal vendors, sort of like merchants but illegal.

Other ideas:
Sliced weapons can't be put in vendors within a certain radius of cities. with exception of Anchor Head maybe. Forcing them to out of the way places.
There's a well know sliced weapons vendor on Eclipse just outside of the imperial stronghold of theed. Would be interesting if the live events team started dropping scanning teams all over the area when a restocking is advertised. There would need to be a new type of just fine crackdown with only smugglers able to avoid it. Other wise it would just turn into a grief rebels event.

I'm actually a master smuggler, master armorsmith and have novice merchant, so can actually place my own vendors.
Maybe we can make it so I could actualy place a smuggler vendor. Upkeep would be more on the vendor. I would have to pay an extra fee to the city I place the vendor, and possibly make it so the upkeep on the house I place the vedor would also be increase. These fees could be viewed as a bribe so the local milita and such would overlook my house and allow me to do "buisness as usual".
Make it a perk in the merchant profession. We all know they could use something more.
