Hey everyone, so I decided to make a wookie smuggler. Now I know that smugglers aren't that great of a combat class so I wanted to add another combat class tomy character. The two obvious choices are TKA and Pistoleer so I was wondering what you guys think are the pros and cons of taking one over the other. I'm also thinking of taking creature handler if I have enough points for it.

I'm master smuggler/commando with 3 rifleman abilities.. works pretty well, you can use your smuggler pistol abilities with the commando pistol. With the rifle abilities I have I can dizzy, so you can dizzy, use low blow to knock em down, then burn em with the flamethrower
Just make whatever you think you'd have the most fun with.

Well see that's the thing I love both the idea of being a TKA and Pistoleer. With TKA you get to own just about anything that moves, plus I like the whose wookie with karate moves, and pistoleer is fun too, specially since I want to be a CH as well so it makes sense that the pet melees while you're close by shooting with your gun (not to mention that it looks funny, a giant wookie with a tiny little gun.)

You don't have the points for CH of any level without severely gimping one of the other classes.
I'm Master Smuggler, Pistoleer, and TKM. I love it. We don't hit super hard in pvp, but if you can get a /lowblow and /lastditch sunk on someone, you can get them started, move in and finish with TKM skills. Pistol's body-targetting is terrible, they can heal indefinitely with stim-b's.
I mastered CH way back when, and I could never get the hang of or enjoy having something else do the grunt work for me. Might be a useful addition for PVE, but I find a good set of pistols handles most varied resistances, and even though TKM only gets light ap (at best), we have good defenses and can tank fairly well.
Besides, you get to be a hard-charging brawler with mad pistol skills, something every smuggler should love! Especially when they're out there not being smugglers because the rest of our **edit** is broken.

I'm one of the few Smuggler/CH/Gunfighter/TKAs out there, its good for PvE, but that's about it(unless you trick someone into thinking you're just a Smuggler/CH
).
Anyway, you get enough points in this to go Master Smuggler, 0004 CH, Gunfighter 0041, TKA 0041, and a few floating skillpoints. That means two pets with a max difficulty of 24, the ability to train mounts(for extra cash), all the defences from Gunfighter below Master, all the power attacks from TKA(including dizzy), extra Melee and Ranged Defence from the combat xp branches of Gunfighter and TKA.
So, while you may not be able to tank seven Nightsisters alone, you're pretty damned versitile. The Jack-of-All-Trades, and Master of One.
Personally, I'm at 3004 with CH, but considering dropping it to 0004(like listed above), I mainly use my pets to get higher difficulty missions, to rake in faction points, but once I hit one more rank, I'm not really gonna faction grind any more. I'm really looking at Meditation in TKA, so I can /powerboost and /forceofwill
Anyway, the best template for you will be the one *you* make, that you know what it can do, and create some tricks for yourself.
