-DISCLAIMER: NOT A FOR SELL THREAD I HAVE QUESTIONS

I have a master DE friend thats producing crates of MSE Bomb droids on my server. I have a couple of questions for my fellow smugglers i figured I'd throw out there.

They come in crates of 10 with a detonation power of 38

1. Would these droidsbe somthing seen as usefull / interesting to use?

2. What would be a fair price? (he's charging 5k per droid or 50k per crate)

3. What kind of situations have you used them for in the past?

Thanks for your time

They are a riot to use when you can find targets that are grouped together within 17m of each other. Just remember they will ALL aggro you after the bomb detonates.

2. What would be a fair price? (he's charging 5k per droid or 50k per crate)

That's the price I saw on the DE boards. Considering you get no XP off oftargets killed by these and your xp on those that survive theblast is dropped, and they are one use, I think it is a bit steap, but it's like the commando Heavy Weapons....if you use them wisely, then its not as big a waste of credits.

3. What kind of situations have you used them for in the past?

Group of 5 Maulers on Naboo...sent in the droid and BOOM...2 died in the blast...the other 3 ran at me....with 5K-6K already gone off of the HAM bars they were easily killed.

The BH forums have a story of a BH that used his to hit a target in a house and pull the mark out as a way around the bugs they have been having as well.

Thanks for your time

Over all, I think the droids are pretty cool, and there are many ways to use them that I didn't cover. Just takes a bit of imagination!

thanks!

So mainly there a PVE assett?

Has anyone ever had success in PvP with these things?

I've tried a couple against buffed opponents as a suprise opening attack. I havnt been too successful with them. That brings up a couple of more questions.

1. will they do damage to ANYONE in area of attack or only those that are tef'ed to you?

2. whats the highest det power seen on you server ?( 38 here )

3. does the det power coincide with damage produced ? ( ie 3800 for 38 det power )

Thanks again

The right ones can be used in PVP...there was a test by the DEs on the Test Center and they did 650dmg to a player wearing comp armor with 65% resists

See above

If you can attack it, it will take damage from the blast. (Everything within 17m that is.) The rumor is that there is no saving throws for these. So even Defense Mod Stackers will take the damage.

2. whats the highest det power seen on you server ?( 38 here )

For the mouse droid, the max is 40. Now for a large chunk of creds, you can get them to make you an R3 that has 6 bomb mods in it.An R3was used in a test on a rebel faction base, almost 20 rebel NPCs were in the blast radius. All took 9K-12K damage from the blast. (Just remember, you don't get any XP from that so its really just for clearing an area)

3. does the det power coincide with damage produced ? ( ie 3800 for 38 det power )

Nope. Not that I have seen..The droids I tested were 18, and were doing 5K-6K damage. (remember the damage you got in PVP was reduced by 75%..yes the droids are reduced when used in PVP).

Thanks again

I'm not 100% sure on this one. I was visiting a friends city when it was hit by an Imperial raid. Now I was covert, but in the raiding party there was a Dark Jedi I sent my little bomb droid off and detonated him. The Dark Jedi was buffed and wearing composite but I saw a definite drop in his ham. On the explosion, a bunch of other Imps turned red to me. It was pretty much all of them that were in the blast area. Since I did not check their damage before I sent it in I have no idea if it damaged them unfortunately. I did send another one in after that and he did very nice damage, can't remember what it was though.

You might ask around the DE boards and see if there is a forumla. In my early tests with some 36 det power droids, I had them doing around 7k damage on the creatures outside my house on Corellia.

Thanks again

Hope some of this info helps some. I'd recommend checking on the DE boards if you want more info.

This is a common group TEF. The jedi was the only one that took damage on the first droid Then everyone in his group got a TEF on you and were able to attack. Your second one hit all of them in the blast radius however.

I like them alot, and they can really save your bacon especially if you aggro more than you can handle. I keep about 4 uncrated in my inventory and they can be prepared while incapped or feigning death. Last night for instance I aggroed a bunch of critters and had to feign death to keep from dying(the critters in question did DB) while they were standing around me I prepared a droid ,stood up and detonated it, problem solved. Very handy items indeed.

Don't forget that you can ready bobombs any time. If you're inside a building or a cave, or in combat and you have a deed in your inventory...

just ready the droid tell em to chase then /detonate

If det power doesn't affect damage, what does it do? How was that R3 droid more powerful than an MSE droid, then?

You can put more detonation modules in an R3 then a mse...

I have an R2 Unit Detenation Droid with A detenation power of 40....that is the highest that the particular DE who sold it to me had seen. I have not used it yet so I don't know what kind of damage it will actually do.

Here is a question though: don't you think these droids are a bit impractical? I mean you cannot call droids while in combat and who travels around with a droid following them? It just seems odd having a little mouse droid or R2 following me around. They move so slow and all. It would be better if we could call them in the heat of battle.....

Uh you can call these droids during combat.

If you have already called the droid, then no.

These droids are to be used as last moment type deals.

Keep a DEED for a droid in your inventory, and try to ready it in combat. You'll see that it calls it.

Chase is the default command to follow.

Group
Chase
/target an MSE
/detonatedroid

the blast does not damage the player who detonates the bomb?
