We were talking about how SWG isn't really star warsy at all with all the jedi running around and stuff.You know...5 jedi with their sabers out talking in mos eisley, smugglers not smuggling, blah blah etc etc... A CSR overheard us talking in chat and sent this.

CSR******: Actually the movies are only a small part of the genre in terms of content

o_O yeah so... guess they could remove the stormtroopers at any time

Not to be a noodge, but the movies really are a limited view of Star Wars. There is a lot that went on that the movies didn't cover. Some of it is brought out in the EU, even the fact that there was at least one lightsaber-armed Jedi in existence when it was believed that "the Jedi are all but extinct" (Gantoris who was later trained further at Luke's Academy).

Even the PnP Star Wars RPGs included much that was not seen in the films, including allowing Jedi PCs.

Yeah, was just kinda funny he stating that after we were talking about jedi being in mos eisley

Yeah, AND what they're portraying ain't exactly according to the EU either.

AND the EU, while swell and all, is considered an inferior source to the movies, which aren't done with Luca's approval. They're done BY Lucas.

Agreed. Not only that, but almost all the EU takes place outside of the time frame SWG is set in - so things like a load of Jedi running around is rediculous. It's almost a shame they couldn't do like the Matrix Online MMORPG and make this game the next film, so to speak - that way Jedi would be justified, along with the lower number of Imps etc.
