can i do it?

when i press them they say slice... hwen i try to slice they say lock broken...

i havent found a single one that i could acctualy slice yet...

is this a bug or am i doing something wrong?

Nope.

They usually are on a timer and when ever the contents spawn they will either be locked or open. A classic example is the Pirate base on Naboo where after everyone is dead 1/3 of the containers will be locked. I've tried this during combat and after.

whats the point of having a slice option if you just cant slice anyway?

Well all i know is that in the Tuscan Bunker there was a magseal container in the way end of the Bunker that didnt open till the Tuscan Warchief was killed. And for that you had to wait in that room for like 10 minutes.
