I'm in a similar boat. I'm going to wait for this next patch and see if the damage and HAM decreases are as promised. Then decide whether or not to keep my TKA abilities, and perhaps my entire character.

I'd like to cheer you up Arc, but I'd be telling a lie.

No, don't give up TKA. Here's what you do.....

Solo light blue mobs until you get 20,000 combat exp saved up....

Then, train novice marksman. This is key....

Next, get a good pistol and start training up the pistol tree. Use the combat exp you got from TKA to train up ranged weapon support.

As your advancing up the marksman trees, TEMPORARILY drop some TKA skills so you have enough skill points.

When you get pistol maxed and ranged weapon support maxed (now listen carefully, this is the critical part)... TRAIN PISTOLEER!

Continue to advance up the Pistoleer tree until you have mastered Pistoleer. Keep dropping TKA skills so you have the skill points to do so.

Now, when you have become a Master Pistoleer, you can finally acheive the TKA's full potential by..... Dropping any remaining TKA skills and dropping all brawler skills.

Make sure you get the best pistol weapon available as you advance up the pistoleer tree. They are cheap, readily available and do more damage faster thanany carbine or rifle.

Once you have completely dropped all TKA skills, you will have reached the full potential of the master of melee class.

I am seriously scorned by the TKA nerf. First I was angry, now I feel sad and dejected. I hardly use my TKA anymore and it sucks because I chose a Trandoshan and they are supposed to have an extra boost for unarmed combat. I am considering just dropping TKA completely, losing the meditate line when I get my medic skills up. I am also a Rifleman and I plan to PvP a lot and my TKA skills hardly get used at all. Sometimes I use it but only indoors really and that is pretty rare since most of PvP is out in the open.

I need some guidance or something to keep me from dropping the TKA. I got TKA master one night and in the morning he was nerfed. All that work for nothing.

Is this new patch going to fix us or will it take a lot more time?

Thanks for reading.

Well, it's finally happened... I'm wavering on whether to ditch Master Smuggler and overhaul my template.

At the moment I'm Master Smuggler, Master Pistoleer, and Master TK, and strangely enough I'm having trouble finding fun content.

Unfortunately the times I play and rl commitments seem to prevent me from joining group or guild events most of the time, so I need to find something that I can enjoy on my own.

So what do you guys all do? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, especially if it means I can keep my template as is.

Again, I'm one of the people that always wanted to play a Smuggler. It was the first profession that I Mastered and it'll kill me to let it all go, but I think I need to find something fun to do while I wait for the Smuggler revamp.

If that means dropping it all and then coming back ('cos I would in a heartbeat if we got some love) then so be it, but I'd rather not.

I was toying with the idea of trying out running BH missions for a bit and see what that's like, but if anyone has any suggestions for other content that they enjoy, then I'd love to hear it.

I'm going to carry on trying to rp, but as a lot of people find, it's often too much like hard work to be fun most of the time when other people have no interest or idea what you're doing.

Much as I like playing the tortured masochist, I'd at least like to have fun while I'm doing it

Thanks for your help.

Try and search for roleplayers via the playersearch. I know that their some on Infinity.

We couldn't play SWG without Tiggs. Now we can =)

Currently I am a Master Pistoleer, smuggler 1140, Master Medic, Doctor 0003 (soon to be 0004 as soon as I get the time to sit down and craft), and Smuggler Alliance pilot 4443. I've been having a lot of fun with this build, because I can do a variety of things; when I get bored with the ground, I fly in space; when I get tired of space, I go back and hunt on the ground. Hunting humanoids on Lok will get me fast, decent paying missions, and with the doctor in my build I can heal the states and bleedsthat they slap on me. I cancraft very good medsand sell themwhen I need to.

I haven't tried this build in PVP yet, but since I don't typically PVP, there's not a lot of hurry to give it a go.

Some people may not find this enjoyable, but I do.

Good luck with your build and decision. Not long ago I was in your position and as you can see, I chose to alter my template. Its going to be a while before we start to see anything large coming for the smugglers, so from that perspectiveI decided totake the opportunity to see what else was out there.

Most professions are pretty redundant.

Bounty hunter while not as long as a grind as it used to be is still quite tedious.

Here is my suggestions for a little fun.

Creature handler sure its nerfed all to hell, but this profession creates new content on each planet. You will find yourself on endor trying to tame a prowling gurrek, and dantooine for graul maulers. You will go looking for giant sand beetles on tat just because they look cool. Generally its a wonderful profession. Different combat and different goals. Sure you can buy better pets, but you will miss the satisfaction of hunting down a riverside sulfer mynock for its insane heat resists.

BE for the fun of tinkering up new monsters.

Crafting is fun and challengeing especially when you go to hunt down a new spawn and so forth.

Try out ranger just to be an oddball.

Thanks for all the suggestions, I'll definitely add them all to my list of things to try out if I decide to ditch Smuggler.

Hang in there. Maybe some day Smuggling will be back in the game.

If you can't find any content make your own.

If cross server chat is enabled then join me and WE can replace the emporer and rule all the Galaxies.

I am MC and MS working on Master Alliance pilot while I'm trying to start a syndicate on Flurry to drive Jabba out of business.

I just added my 5th storage droid. - I forgot about the 5 droid limit - I need to give one of my storgae droids away so I can sue my bomb droids.

I also prayed to the Slicing Gods (forget the devs- the Slicing Gods at least hear me) to increase the droid storage from 10 to at least 50 items.

I use2 droids for my weapons and armor. 1 for my slicing tools and the other1 I will use to smuggle goods.

I'm just getting started with this so it will habve to evolve as I play it by ear. But..

I want to create a black market/smuggling/spice dealing/ jurder for hire - yi name it crime business

I am in the process of recruiting syndicate membersand am trying to bribe the mayor into rearranging the town to create some back alleys to do business in.

I already have a gun moll, contracted master danger/master musician and several pilots in the organization but I want everyone to either join or be afraid of SCAM.

I just have to get my roleplaing down a bit more.

Anyone on Flurry can join.

More on thsi later as I get it worked out.
