I know you smugglers have been getting lots of threads from both jedi and BH's about this ability.
So i'll skip all that.
This thread is about something I believe is an exploit OF the feign death skill.
You see, medics can use their DRAG INCAPACITATED PLAYER skill to drag a feign death player away.
So... if a combat class cannot deathblow someone because he is not incapacitated, why can a medic class drag someone that is not incapacitated?
And please, dont say its because he's 'feigning' it and the medic is 'fooled' by it.. if you 'feign' to be incapacitated which is the very thing I need to do to give you a deathblow, you will not be fooling me into anything because you are in the very state i want you to be in the first place: incapacitated.
So i'll skip all that.

Let me guess you tryed to kill a jedi and someone saved him by dragging his body away? Just because things dont go your way it does not mean its an exploit.

My momma told me, "If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all."
So...I'll go sit over here and let somebody else come in and say what I'm thinking right now...

Feign Death doesn't pretend to be incapped... it's not called "Feign Knockout" for Pete's sake. AND Medics/Drs. can drag CORPSES. I know becaue my BE dies all the time, and my wife, a Master Doc, drags me all over creation to find a safe place to Rez.

No exploit working as intended. FYI a smuggler is supremely vulnerable upon standing back up. Disoriented and groggy and glued in place for a number of seconds. We cannot stand up into a full blown run. So in pvp we can use another player dragging us away from what caused us to feighn in the first place. See feighn does not remove aggro. If you pop back up you are going to take a licking period. Whatever you were fighting will bolt after you as soon as you stand up.
No this is not an exploit. Sorry guy its working as intended. When I used to pvp I used to see this alot. Player smuggler gets caught in the middle of a pack of other players of creatures. Player b medic runs in and yanks smuggler off a distance. So player smuggler has a chance when he stands back up.
FD is not about laying on the ground for an hour. Its about pretending to die for a few minutes. That can allow you to save yourself or be saved by another player.

We're NOT feigning incapacitation...we're feigning DEATH. You can't DB a dead person. The medic sees a body and drags it away to experiment on. What would YOU want with a corpse anyway? They guy is DEAD to you so just go about your business, there is nothing to kill there.
Jeesh. The problem becomes a WHOLE lot less if they just move FD to Master Smuggler box.

Unless there's a profit to be made
As to the original poster's query, there is no real answer; Why can you still shoot people and damage them and their items when you believe them to be dead and wouldn't bother to do so? Why can a mob several hundered metres away spot that we've actually gotten up from FD and come running after us?
Answers on the back of a post card please... I'm afraid we're just going to have to wait until the CU sorts things out.
