...but I'm still confused. Topic: MAGSEAL CONTAINERS
I've read some previous posts on this subject, and I thought I found the answer.
Here is my situation....
Ok, I go into a "dungeon", kill everything in there and try to open the magseal containers. Some are unlocked with either nothing in them or just crappy loot in them. Some are locked. The locked containers, when examined, show either 1 to 3 items inside.
I, being a slicer, try to slice said container only to get the message "the lock is broken....can't be unlocked...etc etc"
I have all required equipment to do a proper slice. I know how to do a slice. I'm not yet a master (0444). I am getting angry...here's why...
From my reading of previous posts, I have realized that these containers might be on a time schedule. Lets say 2 hours...
But here is the dilemma: I was at that "dungeon" RIGHT after server restart this morning. I KNOW I was the first one there because it takes at least 30 minutes for all npc's to respawn after death (at this particular location). All npc's were present and accounted for. The possibility that someone went in there and opened those "locked" containers without killing any npc's and not dying themselves is outright impossible. But yet, 3 out of the 6 containers in there were locked and unsliceable (sp?).
So, knowing all this, what is the friggin deal? My curiousity regarding these containers and the contents held within them can not be contained any longer. I must have what's inside them! No secret will elude me!
So, in closing, I need your opinion on this matter.
If you answer, please include the following info:
1. Have you ever successfully sliced a locked magseal container?
2. What did you find inside?
3. Have you tried slicing the same container at a different time, with unsuccessful results?
4. have you tried slicing the same container at or about the same time, with successful results?
5. If you have answered yes to question 1: did you try opening the container immediately after you retrieved the items inside to find it was locked again or unlocked?
6. Do you like long walks on the beach?
7. Disregard question #6
Thanks in advance!

As far as I know, Magseal Containers in Dungeons cannot be sliced. They appear locked if they have been previously opened and have not been "filled" again. I think they also appear locked if they are simply empty, but someone would have to confirm this. This last possibility could explain you finding locked containers when you were the first to arrive.

All the locked containers, when examined, showed at least one item in them. (example: contents 3/20) Yet, they were still unsliceable. I'm starting to scratch my head now

Magseals are NOT sliceable, and never have been. I have no clue how exactly they work (as far as when open or when locked), but I do know that at various times when I have visited dungeons that the various magseals are not in the same situation every time.
Example:
Day 1: Magseal 1 and 3 are locked, but 2 is unlocked and empty.
Some Day Later: Magseal 1 and 2 are locked, 3 is unlocked and has crappy loot.
Some Day Later: Same as Day 1
Some Day Later: Magseal 3 is locked, but 1 and 2 are open and have crappy loot.
Now, this is of course not an exact recounter, but it gives the general idea.
