Yes, we COULD see the contents.
Yes, we COULD remove something.
Yes, we COULD replace contents with something else.
However, 99% of the time, all you're going to get back is a crappy CDEF pistol or some other equally useless junk, or it might be nothing at all.
That other 1% of the time, there may be a crystal or a semi-useful clothing attachment, and since a Smuggler's reputation is paramount, you're 99.5% guaranteed to get it back. Most Smugglers I know, myself included, don't even look in containers when asked to open them. Of course, most Masters don't open containers anyway, since we don't need the XP and Novices are hurting for locked containers, we mostly direct containers where they're needed most.

I always look (i cant help it) but always givewhat ever is in the containerto the client. Most of the time it's junk but there is the rare occasion when its something good. Most Smugglers understanding that trust is involved in this type of service and as long as you are not a jerk we will give the client what ever was in the container. There are also times when nothing is in them and I will let you in on a little smuggler secret. We willat timesslip a little somthing in there for you. Most not all smugglers operate this way, use common sence when dealing withpeople and you will be fine. Also the best way to not get burned is to not play withfire!....

Sometimes I look in containers while at other times I don't. Out of say, 200 containers, I've found one green crystal. That same green crystal was given to the owner of the container. Sure, I could have taken it. Sure I could have replaced it with 1 unit of X resource. But seriously, what's the point?
People place a lot of trust in smugglers as it is. I'd rather give someone a reason to keep trusting their local smugglers, as opposed to chasing them away.

I will slice open your container.
I will look inside your container.
You will get all your items back.
I prefer my customers to trust me. Otherwise, what customers will I have and what money will I make?

As you can see this is my first post. I have a simple question and would like some help. My question is this: Lets say I have a locked container that I need someone to slice for me. Easy enough. I find one of you great smugglers and kindly ask you for your slicing services. Now I trade you my container and cash if required and a few seconds later you return me an unlocked container.
Here is the question upon handing you that container, you slice it and unlock it. At that point can you see the contents of the container, and secondly can you remove those contents (i.e. a crystal) and add contents (i.e. CDEF Pistol) to it before giving it back to me? Kinda new and just wondering?

Yes to all of the above. But to tell you the truth I have only had something good in a container once out of the uncountable containers I have opened. When I open containers for people I dont' look in them.Don't want to know whats in them.
