Thread: Looking to get to Slicing 4 quickly, how do I do it

First of all....let me say that I am a hologrinder.....BUT, I am going to be keeping Smuggler for a LONG time, possibly beyond Patch 10, so I am not JUST a holo grinder, but also an aspiring smuggler as well. I want to get to Slicing 4 as quickly as possible, hopefully over the weekend. I've been slicing terminals for a Whopping 100 xp per and containers whenever my guildies or someone in Coronet gives me some. I bought several crates of Mol Clamps and Pres. Laser Knives, so I'm good on supplies. Here are my basic questions:
Should I grind through Terminal Slicing to get to Slicing 2, or try for containers?
If containers, where can I get enough to make it to slicing 2?
Once I get slicing 2, how much xp do you get for slicing weps and does it matter xp-wise which weapon you slice?
What's the best way to make $$$ as a Master Smuggler?

You'll need 20 containers for slicing1. If you decided to slice terminals, you'll be spending 3 or so hours doing so. Otherwise, if you can find 30-40 containers to aid in slicing2, then go for it. Slicing 3+4 takes roughly 300 survival knives (or whatever weapon you're grinding). Needless to say, you'll be slicing for a while.

what slicing level you at? I take it that you have slicing I. Spam in Dantooine mining outpost, coronet or theed for containers. Use clamps and advertise that you have a 100% success rate. Do this while you hump... er.. sit next to a mission terminal of some kind, slicing it every 2 mins or so. Once you can slice weapons, buy a lot of clamps, knives, weapon upgrade kits, and crates of survival knives (ask around to find these). Slice those bad boys real quick until you get to slicing 4.

I have Slicing 1, halfway done with 2....so I'm on my way.......One more question, I have never seen a Weapon Upgrade Kit or Armor Upgrade Kit ever....where do I get one (I'massuming a Weaponsmith/Armorsmith), and also.........are they likevehicle cust kitsand have charges, or are they a one time use deal??

Yep, you get them from Weaponsmiths and Armorsmiths, but a lot of Smugglers with vendors also stock them. Sometimes you can also find them on the bazaar. In a crate of 25 WUKs or AUKs, you get 25 slices out of them.
One thing, make sure you remove your precision laser knife from the crate when slicing. When taken out of the crate, you get ten uses per laser knive. If used from within the crate, you get one use per knive.
