hi all. ignore the previous partial post, i sneezed & hit the keyboard. sorry.
my question - are locked containers mysteriously disappearing on you, once you have successfully sliced them?
yesterday, i gave a friend of mine 10 locked containers to slice for xp (several looted from high lvl ns). 3 of them he claims simply disappeared as soon as he successfully sliced them open. has this been happening to anyone else recently? or should i considermy friend to not be astrustworthy as i believed he was?
and on a side note - when a smuggler slices a locked container, does he have to look in it? does it automatically open?
if anyone is having this problem, please let me know. i'd hate to have to believe my friend is dishonest... but at the moment no smuggler i've chatted with in-game has ever had this happen to him/her.

I've never heard of containers disappearing. It'd be the same as any other inventory item disappearing. He'd be able to appeal to a CSR and have the items restored--or at least be compensated--if this was actually the case.
Sounds like he broke the containers, quite honestly. If he took the items inside, he'd still be able to give the container back (unlike an empty factory crate).
See, when a smuggler opens a container, he has to select from two wires to cut; one that opens the container and one that will lock it permanently. Smugglers can use clamps to show the correct wire, but it is not necessary to use a clamp in order to cut the wire.
Smugglers do not have to look inside the containers when they slice them, though many do. I charge 20k per container so I don't peer inside.

I had on a locked container just disappear the other day when i was unlocking it. I just gave the guy one of my other ones i had in my inventory. Yesterday I bought four items form a vendor, one 1AUK 2WUK's and a case of Survival Knives. BOTH of the WUK's never appeared in my inventory after i retrieved them. 11,000 cr down the drain. Sucks. So yeah, I have had them disappear on me after I just unlocked them.

Maybe his inventory was full because the container has items in it as well. so if a container had 3 itmes in it it would be classed as 4 items in ur inventory so if he only had 3 spaces left in his inventory the container would get deletedand belive me that can happen

yes, locked containers are known to dissapear after you cut the last wire. You still should get the XP for succesful slice, however. Old bug, that never been fixed. Just report it as a bugg, and move on - the best thing you can find in those containers is clothes and sometimes sucky skill tapes ...

This post was longer but the damn forums
yeasterday a fellow smuggler if I ever had conatienrs disappear on me and I replied no but told him of the full inventory bug and he said his inventory was still seven items left in it but the container still disappeared.
On a side note I have a paranoid friend I refuse to slice for simply becuase he still thinks that containers dropped by high level mobs should have something good inside them no matter how many times Itell him IT IS RANDOM. If he had said that one conatiner disappeared I might be a little concerned he had dipped his fingers into one. However the chances of 3 out of 10 conatiners having anything worth stealling is very very rare.
He does not have to look inside these conatiners but there is nothing from stopping him from doing so. You asked him to open the containers and he did. If he's a lawyer then he does not have to return them to you, all trades are final. If he's your friend then believe him. Wait till next server restart and get him to check his inventory again. IF not both of yous end in a CRS ticket and get told by them that there is nothing that the CRS can do. Then get over the loss of your 3 conatiners and the crappy CDEF pistol, sunguard and knife that was inside them.

I had 2 of 5 disappear on me the other night. My inventory had plenty of open space. Wasn't a big deal to me since I was able to get my slicing xp, but tht ratio worries me if I were to be asked to perform a slice for a customer or friend.

camp the tusken fort entrance and open all locked containers, i was there the other day with my slicer title on 9had been slicing a bit on naboo) and I got spamed with tells. I set my price to 2k a container slice, it calm things down. Still a good spot to grind XP though (better bring clamps or you're gonna get flamed)

Not that I can tell amigo. In fact, I get them a hell of a lot more now than I used too. But the slicing gods are vengeful pricks, so you never get them when you need 'em.

and the prices of them have incrasd alot too...seen someone trying to sell them for 30K lol...just spam that ur opening locked containers for free around bestine or something...people turn up..
