Thread: Planning ahead...

One method I use to make my money is planning ahead. Normally I keep these plans to myself for two reasons:

Reason 1: Easier for me to capitalize on the plans

Reason 2: Plans are always subject to change

This particular plan revolves aroudn the JtL and Smuggler Revamp. Although everyone (including myself) would love to have the revamp now, there are some benefits to these changes in when we are going to get our revamp. The main benefit is that it allows us to plan ... plan ... plan ... to cash in on the profits.

This is my plan (work in progress) for JtL and Smuggler Revamp:

Step 1 (Now until JtL):

Focus efforts on profit.

We know ships will be expensive, and rumors are that the YT-1300 will take a comperable amount of resources to a guild hall. We know that the limited number of quality ship-builders will charge excessive amounts for these ships. We know that we will want the best resources for our ships. With this knowledge, I am calculating a minimum balance requirement fora 'good' YT-1300 of $5MM for a stock YT-1300 with more expenses to follow.

Step 2 (Release of JtL until Master Pilot):

Focus effort on flying the stock ship that is provided to us and gaining Experience until you reach Master Pilot.

We know that you will need Master Pilot to be able to fly a YT-1300. Why waste money on other ships that will be over-priced? Take the free one and grind.

Step 3 (Master Pilot thru Smuggler revamp):

Focus on finding loot, running missions and making modifications to your ship to make it the "Best Ship in the Galaxy"

Step 4 (Smuggler Revamp):

Finally, be a Smuggler.

Step 2 and beyond, I plan to have a team of Smugglers working together and have two possible Squadron setups.

Option 1:

6 YT-1300 with full crew (1 Pilot, 2 Gunners)

2 Fighter Escorts

Option 2:

5 YT-1300 with full crew (1 Pilot, 2 Gunners)

5 Fighter Escorts

WIth these formations, I believe it will maximize the 20 group limit (assuming they keep it the same for JtL) Option 1 can maximize on a large cargo, where option 2 may allow more versatility.

Along these lines Geevo, I think I am going to actually get my Hutt faction in the positive in anticipation of the third faction.

Now, ifI could only figure out what I need to kill to do it....

moenia, naboo around that area is the best place to build up jabba faction...(Trust me I had to build up from -5000 to run jabba's theme park.)

And geevo I am also planning for JTL...big time. I have a small group of friends who I have know for a while and ar seriously going to form an underground privateer organization. One of our goals is to become one of the most dangerous player forces in space. It's a lofty goal...but it will be fun trying to reach it :-D

my agenda: (also not that I am also profession testing to see what I like to go with Master Smuggler...without dropping Master Smuggler during this time as well.)

Pre-JTL:

1. Continue profession testing:

- I play a profession until master and then I play it for no less than 2 weeks. I keep notes on what I like and dislike about the prof...and then how I feel it works with Master Smuggler in my opinion.

2. Stockpile Resources:

- at the moment I am stockpiling resources to supply to my shipwright to help him grind through the prof.

3.Make loads of Credits:

- Since I am testing the combat proffesions at the moment...this has not been a problem.

4. Make contacts:

- Keeping in mind that my goal is to create a space-based underground privateer organization...I am trying to find the best people who are interested.

JTL Release

1. Buy the expansion :-p

2. Sell all faction and become neutral.

3. GEt my started ship and grind through to master pilot.

4. Hopefully train with other members of the guild to become a better pilot.

5. Wait for the Revamp and become a true smuggler.

Of course...much of this info after JTL just depends on what is encompassed in the expansion. My plans for pre-release are set in stone though and have been working for about 2 months now on it.

Hutt faction and Jabba faction are two different things, unless they changed it recently.

Exactly my point Sawro...I know how to get Jabba, but Hutt is a whole other monster. Haven't found anything yet that gives positive Hutt faction.

Maybe someone will be able to enlighten me.

Somehow I got my Hutt faction really low and I want to get it back up. If I could only remember what I killed to get it low, I could go back and see what the opposite faction is.

As for looking ahead many of you are say you are already rescource collecting. My question is what should we be looking for and how much. I have not seen what is going to be needed for the YT's yet , but is there some known base stuff I can look for? Or would it be better just to save up and buy what you can when you are sure of the amount?
