Hey fellow smuggers,
I have been a smuggler for a fewdays now- I am 1/2/0/4 in smuggler.
I have also been spending my pistol Xp on learning Pistoleer -I am 0/0/3/1 in Pistoleer.
I have been noticing that I have been taking alot of damage in combat lately... I can't hold my own like I used to.... and I can't do pretty much any decent mission unlessI am wearing a full suit of comp armor and I am buffed.
The only problem is... I dont like armor, it causes major damage on my mind, action, and health regeneration... so I figured that my Stat Migration could have something to do with it...
my Current Stat Migration is:
600
400
700
600
600
600
800
400
700
What do you smuggers/pistoleers recommend that I change my Stat Migration to? And what do you recommend for me if I dont want to wear armor?
Thanks,
Antonnio

Oh, by the way... I already searched for this information, and I couldn't get a straight answer.... so I figured I would ask myself... see if I could get better results...

everyone is different and will argue about whos stats are the best...
Trust me Ive been playing since day 1 and people (including vets) sill argue
1) if you have access to getting your stats buffed then I sugest a slightly Higher mind (all 3) increase
2)also if you get the lizard race (lol) and go TKA/smuggler that is a good template tka can enhance himself with power boost a 800 pt mind means a 400pt boost to mind action health that lasts about 6 min and can pe reaplied when it wears out. the lizards alsot get bonuses that help in HtH and regeneration that icreases con once every hour for about 6 minutes.
All these are helpfull to me being a smuggler (allthou dont be a Imperial due to being non human) if all my TK defenses dont help me there is always faking death that does work well at lvl 2.

With the way PvE is at this stage, you NEED to be wearing composite (or at least kinetic resist, I hear Ubese is okay) and you NEED to be buffed. I don't like it, but that's the way it is.
SO
As a Human, I maxed my Mind pool, and raised by Focus and Willpower by 100 to help with regeneration rates. Then, I split my remaining points between Action and Health so that if I am ever caught in a fight with no buffs, I won't get one-shotted.
I think the common theme you'll see here is at least max out your mind, though.

Rodian here:
With buffs Health and Action lines are mute points. I would go full on all three Mind lines then incase buffs drop or you do not have them at that time have prime and secondaries for Health Action is a prime 2/3rd sec 1/3 ratio of your remaining stats to give you a slight bit of pretection in an unbuffed fight.

For PvE, Ubese is quite sufficient, at least for me. It has good kinetic resists, which is most important, and with a decent encumberance slice, it will not put such a drain on your secondaries.
I have additional defenses from TKA, but much of the time, I can fight without the armor if I'm buffed. Sometimes I may need just the helmet if they're beating up my Mind too much. Keep the armor handy and spice at the ready always helps in a pinch.

Thanks for all the help... it has been most appreciative.
As for Smuggler/Pistoleer/TKA... I think that is going to be the route I go, I have medic now, and If i drop it... my ability to heal is pretty much gone forever... so that Feign Death will probably help me out there... "Hopefully"...
I'll go buy some Ubese armor, and probably spend the rest of my money on buffs... I have a friend who does it for free as long as I supply him with free spice... so heh... I am happy.
Thanks again,
Antonnio

unfortunatly with the game as it is now your stuck getting buffs and wearing either comp or ubese.
I'm a triple master (human)
my stats are
800
450
450
800
450
450
1000
500
500
this way I can wear my armor (all encumb sliced) with out buffs when I power boost I can get health and action to 1300 and mind to 1500
which makes me acceptable in pve missions without buffs
The inability to heal is an issue but I have a droid with stims in it and in a pinch I can feign death or force of will.
/shrug its about the best I can give you everyone has their own oppinion based on their play style. You need to figure out what your play style will need and do that.
