Well this stuff isn't in the stickies, is it? How many of us even know?
I think slicing results are like a bell curve, and for armor effectiveness the ones above 30% are fairly rare. I can in no way give you hard or even soft numbers as to the frequency, however, and may even be totally wrong and it's a completely random distribution; I haven't read any collected slicing results threads in a over a year. But my memory says it's something of a bell curve, and that the highest- and lowest-end slices will be disproportionately rare.
Your formula for finding final resistances works fine.

Yes, perhaps I was a little hasty
My experience is that you get a High/Low Damage/Spd/Eff/Enc slice approximately 5% of the time
Unless, that is, you use 99% Clamps and Knives, and the weapon has been out of its crate for between 1 and 29 minutes and isn't made with Krayt tissue. When those criteria are met, I can almost guarantee a good slice

We had that stats for 4000 slices a few months back. It's a bell curve. 20-30 are quite high percentage chance of obtaining. 15-19 and 31-35 are rarer. I don't believe I've ever got a 35% slice on weapon. I don't bulk slice though. Got a nice 34% damage on a Scythe the other day, the customer was very happy
Working out percentages are easy. it's base stat x 1.XX = out come were XX is the percentage of the slice.
Example 70 base composite x 1.25 (25% base slice) = 88 base after slice. (rounded from 87.5)
There's a slicing calculator linked in the FAQ somewhere, I just use a calculator though.

Yeah, thirties effectiveness? Rare. Like just as rare as for weapons. YOu're talking top end plus splitting 50/50 with enc.

Well only ten of those were over 30, and half of those were damage and therefore, "more desireable."
So out of sixty you have 10 out of 60 = about 16% and only half being "right" you get 8%. Bell curve says probably about 2.5% will be over 30% effectiveness slices, so this set's better than average but only 60 values.

Yes!!! The copywrited technique - whenslicing always/yell F**K YES! after a good 'un - officiallyworks, and I have the stats to prove it

I've sliced a lot of armor in my time, and if I had to estimate I would say that about 7% of all the armor that I've sliced has got a 30+ effectiveness slice. Recently I pushed a composite chest to 90%. I got a good tip for that one.

I really appreciate all of you weighing in on this for me
It would be a long time before I would have the info, but if you guys want it, I will be able to tell you how many pieces out of 400 get 31%+ effectiveness slices.
Thanks again!

It would definitely be appreciated. Never hurts to have more data, and 400 slices is a fairly significant sample size.
