What's the best way to grind spice? I'm not really interested in the line since spices are so useless. I know very little about artisan/ surveying. Do I just need copper and any organic? I know it takes little time to actually grind it, but acquiring the material confuses me.

Similarily, do you master build your own mol clamps, knives, etc, WUK, AUK, or do you buy them?

I did it by buying a stack of resources, having 3 tools in my toolbar, and then everytime i wasnt doing something (like waiting for a shuttle, regenning health etc) id go through each tool and make some spice. It ended up being the first branch i completed, and doing this way didnt take any time at all. You can use the return key for each stage of crafting (rather than fannying about with craft macros that go tahits up if your off by one second) and you quickly develop the neccessary hand movements to do it really fast

The most cost effective spice to grind with a somewhat decent xp payout is shadowpaw. Just metal and meat. Any metal and any meat.

The tip on multiple crafting tools is right on point.

Pretty easy, I grindedthe entire treein about 1.75 hours the othernight. I used 4 tools and a nice macro. I'll look for the macro post tonight. I'm currently at work.

Thanks for the link, but sadly, I am dumb. What exactly *is* organic and metal? Can I harvest as a scout for organic? Is inert mineral a metal in SWG? I know what metal is in RL, but I leave nothing to assumption where SOE is concerned, from what I've seen.

Organic is basically any flora resource (flora survey tool), meats or hides etc

Metal is basically steel, aluminium, iron etc.

I usually just use some hide and meat as the organic (harvested myself) and steel as the metal (find some cheap stuff on the bazaar or a vendor)

If you have some resources in your inventory, start the food and chem tool, pick the item you want to craft (shadowpaw) and click next, at the resource screen you will see the items you have and can use in your inventory. When you click them either the organic or metal box in the schematic will highlight, showing you can use that resource in that 'ingredient' spot.

And your other question

Similarily, do you master build your own mol clamps, knives, etc, WUK, AUK, or do you buy them?

If you don't have ability to make mol clamps (slicing 4) then you will need to buy them.

To make the knifes you need some of artisan so if you dont have any artisan buy them.

To make WUK you need novice weaponsmith to make AUK you need novice Armorsmith, so again if you don't have those skills buy them

If you want to make you own WUK and AUK you will need 4xxx Artisan and Novice weaponsmith and Novice armoursmith.

I just did shadowpaw using 7 crafting tools

It took me about an hour to do the whole tree, I was used to grinding crafting because of MasterDE. You have to do Advanced Frame Units for the whole profession

it's metal and organic. organic can be any of the following: meat/bone/hides/anythingfromafloraharvester. It is real easy to find a reasonably rich source of metal and flora by just dropping one of each harvester somewhere and taking the highest concentration. You should have all the material you need in 2 days.. tops.

spices and slices are easiest to get

spam your "opening locked containers blah blah blah" macro in theed or cnet, keep crafting i think it's grey gabaki (maybe shadow paw) in practice mode (needs metal/meat) and every 2 mins slice a term you're next to, by the time you've gotten spices 4 you'll prob have slicing II from just terminals (and hopefully some guy will come along with a kajillion locked containers

Spices are easy..just do shadowpaw while waiting on a shuttle or buffs or whatever..you will finish it before anything else....well..maybe slicing before then...but it's easy to do and you won't even notice it. Get a good macro....about 4 or 5 tools...and just crank it up while waiting...it flies by waaay faster than the medic/doc/mcm grind I did on another character...I HATE crafting!

whatever process you decide just make shadowpaw only 2 simple ingredients and you get the same xp no matter what spice you make
