I would give a discount of what the tools actually cost me (maybe a little less of a discount).

prally close to the same price. tools are dirt cheap. when you get a slice you are paying for a the smuggler's time and skill not the tools used

I'd knock about 20% off the cost for ya. If I liked ya maybe 40%, dropping it to 150-200 credits per percent. It's my time as well as my money spent.

Id say your paying for both my time and skill as well as the material used to creating the tools.
But if a customer brought me all the tools needed to do the slice I would wonder why he/she could not either do the slice themselves or have the person they got the tools from do the slice.
I would be disinclined to do any slicing under such circumstances as it would simply make things more of a hastle.
JohnQPlayer: hey can you slice for me?
Me: yeah 7k per item, where are you?
JQP: I'm in Theed near cantina, but i got the tools can ya drop the price a lil?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
now id rather loose the sale than to take time to slice the guys stuff for less than my allready low price
Don't be so cheap folks will drop 12-15K for a 2.5-3 hour stat buff but cant see clear to spend 7k on a boost to their weapon or
armor that will last the life of the item.

I agree with Ego, 7k is a great base price for any slice, seeing as it will last the lifetime of the item. But I got sick of slicing for the public and only slice for Guildies. Too many people saying:
PlayerA: I want a damage slice!
Me: Its random, you get what you get, I cant control the slice.
PA: Ok, but try to make it a damage slice.
Me: Its random.
PA: If you got a 35% damage slice on that, it would be uber!!!11111!
Me: Dont count on it.
PA: Im master (enter profession) so I dont want a speed slice.
Me: Are you even listening?
PA: So, what did you get me?
Me: 26% Speed
PA: But I wanted a damage slice!
Me: If you were listening instead of blathering like a n00b...
PA: Well, can I get a discount because you messed up?
Me: No, thats why you paid in advance.
PA: BUT YOU MESSED UP!11 I WANTED DAMAGE NOT SPEED!!1111111
Me: /addIgnore

P.S. n00blitz should have there own server.

It would depend on if I needed the items or not. When you go to have a mechanic fix your car would you expect him to charge less if you were to provide all the tools he would need.. no. Most mechanics already have all that they need to work on your car. I know this isnt a great example but.. work out a deal with your local smuggler. If you dont have a local personal smuggler then this isnt going to work cause the person that you find will be 100% ready to slice.
Just my opinion.

I can't see too many smugglers wanting to discount if you provide them tools they already have. And the mechanic is a perfect example. If I bring him a socket wrench to borrow, he's not gonna charge me less.
I rarely slice anymore, I had people laughing at me for charging 50k for slicinga 9 piece set of composite armor and 10k for a single item. I also got chastised many times for lousy 17% speed slices on weapons. Very few people even listen to you when you tell them it's random.

I will master smuggler tonight and start my gunrunning business (shhh...don't tell the imps)
Prior to starting smuggler I always tipped very well for slices. It is amazing that people will drop a half a million on a suit of composite and then balk at a 50k charge to increase it's effectiveness/ decrease it's encumbrance dramatically.
Personally I think I am going to go with a "cost for % point" approach. I figure if a person gets lucky with a 35% damage slice, they won't mind paying the premium
I have an alt that is a merchant and am whole heartedly looking forward to making some shady looking vendors to push my spice and guns.

If you are having a smuggler slice in bulk you should be able to work out a deal. Talk to the smuggler and see if you can help by providing armor upgrade kits and maybe materials/factories to run molecular clamps and knifes, or maybe with a free suit of armor or something. The best bet is to work out the deal with the smuggler. There are plenty of smugglers out there who would be happy to work out a deal.

i know a place to get crates for 3500. so thats like a dectuion of 140c per tool so that would be about a total deduction of 420c. out of 6000 per item. hehe..not much of a discount. too bad. i still have to do the work.
