We started going through some revisions on the c-forum but as to when they will release them to everyone else? No idea anymore.

Dear Lord - that means they're real, real I tell you!

Of course you can't tell us anything about what's being discussed, because , well, they like making us suffer.

Can you let us know anything other than 'looking good' or 'worst idea since the secret spice nerf'?

(They said I was mad you know. Wibble)

I like almost everything I see in their docs.

Cool - on the whole positive.

I'll lose a little sleep over the almost - but then there are bound to be things they don't get right on the first pass

Thanks for the info.

Caylin, has there even been some sort of explanation to you guys (correspondents) as to why they changed their tune regarding the release of the docs? Seems to me they went from releasing them 1st week of September to who-knows-when for no apparent reason. It's like they don't exist anymore, except for what you correspondents say. Yes, I know JtL, etc, but geeze I'm paying forSWG NOW as well.

I've never witnessed a company so reluctant to communicate in my life. It's astounding. Do people actually work there, or is it the wizard of oz using a bunch of separate login names behind a curtain giving the illusion of an actual company?

No edit button .

I also wanted to ask if the docs merely say what they hope to achieve, or do they also outlne how? I mean, I'd like to achieve time travel, but I have no idea how .

EDIT- I have a button now, yay!

The time-travel doc is due out after the smuggler revamp.

What I have gathered from several posts is that the docs are being held up until all the correspondents can approve their current version.

But with all the correspondents coming ang going I imagine it is getting a little difficult. Instead of getting approva; from a bunch of people you met and discussed things with in Austin, you now have to explain everything from the beginning to a host of new people with new ideas and no background in whats been going on.

It just means us "common folk" have to sit here in the dark for that much longer.

I understand the logisitcs of correspondents but it is just a little unfair. They get information and the rest of us do not. Unfortunately, I know what a good number of people would do with any information, twist it and turn it into a giant conspiracy directed solely at them. So, I guess I am not really mad at the correspondents, the Devs, or the community relations managers. I am mad at the idiots who populate these boards, well most of them aside from the smuggler and DE boards. Well, no, not really the idiots who populate these boards. There are probably lots of people who are quite intelligent and don't say much, just soak up information.

It really is the dumb@$$es who post a lot of things and all of them are bad things. No matter what the post is about they have something bad to say about. The end of the world people. In other words, the Uber l33t doodz.

Thanks a lot jerks. The rest of us have to suffer lack of communication because of them.

There was a semi-explanation but many correspondents are putting for ther opinions that these documents should be shown for feedback asap. We want you to see them and I know many of the developers want you to see them.

Once those documents are out, there will be many, many questions. Ones that the developers may not have answers to even now. Take for instance feign death, I was talking to a developer last night, trying to figure out where it was going. The response was essentially 'no idea'. While the point can be argued that some information is better than no information at all, they do not have all the details worked out just yet. When these are released, the details will need to be there so those questions that will come from the community will be capable of beeing answered in a satisfactory way.

Details count and there are many details that need to be addressed in these documents before even I would approve of them being released to you. Simply because I'm not going to be able to answer those questions when they come in and neither will the devs. They are working hard on getting these things worked out and have posted quite a bit for us to go through and comment on.

When I went to the correspondent summit, one of the first points they acknowledged was that communication needed to be greatly improved. They have been taking small steps to correct it, but I am seeing better developer involvement in getting questions answered on the whole. I've been able to get some answers from methods outside the forums/e-mail as well. The lanes of communication are opening a bit wider, but we all know there is much more to go.

Please remember they don't have to release the documents at all. It is additional work for them to write these up for public digestion. They could have kept you all in the dark about this. The summit could have been completely secret and we could have been forbidden even to speak of it. We want you to get your hands on it and many of the developers do too. We all want it to go right and have your feedback in a constructive way so we can make it even better.

Those in beta for JTL have seen for themselves the fast work the developers are doing on the expansion. It's nothing short of incredible how fast they are making changes. Their feedback, admission of mistakes and insights have been littered through those forums in an attempt to make it the best they can. Hopefully that level of focus and communication on their part will take place once they get that through the doors.

I would personally advise everyone to stop worrying about when it will be shown to you all. Mostly because I'm finding myself fielding these questions when I shouldn't have to be I do my best to answer, but you all know that I have no authority or official backing. I'm just a player who is trying to call it as I see it, with as much detail as I can considering the developers are very serious about the NDAs we sign.

Please Caylin, you must remember that the whole purpose of the "combat summit" was to stop the bleeding of SWG and the bashing of JTL. Without these quick action, SWG would have been a ghost town and there would have been no market for JTL. The release schedule for the development and the release of the Combat Revamp has NOT CHANGE one iota, nor will it. All that the summit has helped do, is quite the masses down. If there were another uprising on the boards before JTL, we would see the DOCs flying out, they are being held in reserve while the correspondent help keep the remaining player base calm. The summit has accomplished it goal.
