The only fix to the launch pad problem according to the CSR I talked to this morning was to uninstall the game. Well I did....

I guess he figured I would reinstall it and sit around and wait for the 6 months worth of patches, and updates to download too.

Not. I'm not going to pay 15 bucks a month to play a game I have to do the maintence on.

Beta did it to me I think although they deny it. I completely deleted it too.

Is there a reason that you installed BETA into your main SWG folder? That is the ONLY way it would have messed up your game....

You have to install beta to a folder that already contains SWG. Most people don't have multiple installs of SWG on their computer, so your options are limited.

erm no you don't... if I remember correctly the install asks you when to install it to, then asks you where there's already a full install of the game so it can copy the files. I only had one install and it went just fine for me.

No, what happens is if you don't give hte beta a unique folder name to install to it just copies and moves your original installation forcing you to reinstall. I lost my profiles this way and now have to rebuild it, a real pain redoing macros, etc.

Nope seperate directory,it wont actually let you overwrite the main directory with the beta install, you have to create a new folder, which i did. What the instaler seemed to do for me was rather than edit/copy/paste the files from the main directory,it directly dragged them across between folders. My original instal directory had all the critical files missing after beta install and thus i couldnt run the normal game on the pc i installed beta on,beta however worked fine. Reinstalation in the main folder fixed the issue for me and i can now happily run both

Have no clue what your guys did, but I just let

the system do what it was established to do and

beta made its own folder and installation. I just read

and followed the directions of the E-mail, only had one

hitch, my main drive is (I). just a small correction and

walla, no problems here.

Yep that's what happened to me except I didn't realise it did that and I couldn't find an uninstall for the beta so I deleted the folder, and along with it my profiles

Couldn't let it install to the c: as default because that is just about full and only for my system files. I hate the fact some programs INSIST on being installed there.

Hrm... strange. When I went to install JtL Beta, I picked a different directory, and it told me something along the lines of "SWGClient_r not found in that location, do you want to continue with install?" I assumed this meant it had to be installed in the same directory. I do have separate folders for SWG and the Beta, as well as the TestCenter install.
