A few questions about FP trading that I`m hoping you more experienced smugglers can help me with.
1) Do I need Underworld IV to but FP or can I but them more expensively witht underworld III, II or I?
2) Can I buy FP from an IMP if I am a covert Rebel?
3) Do smugglers normally stay nuetral so they can sell to both sides?
4) What is a normal/fair price for selling FP - for example for a private and a colonel to sell FP and still make a fair profit.?

Ahhh FP selling, the more advanced part of the smuggler profession, I can tinker with my macros for hours....

I beleive that you just need underworld 4

Nope, as colonel give most transferrate, its best to gain that rank first

Depends on how much money you wanna make, i charge 115 creds/fp but the price i pay is about 97 if im correct, as a private you have to charge about650 to just get around...

4) What is a normal/fair price for selling FP - for example for a private and a colonel to sell FP and still make a fair profit.? As a Colonel I charge 125cr/fp. (As an Imperial it costs 98cr/fp to buy them from a recruiter). To keep the prices fair I did not delegate until I achieved Colonel.

and if you REALLY want to make some money, start a faction perk vendor. I have a vendor with turrets, scanners, minefields (all three of which can be purchased and used by either side), bases, (bought and used by both sides for either PvP or combat grinding/faction farming) made 12 mil yesterday alone, and am about to make another 10 today.

Yup, I am looking forward to sell faction perks on my vendor as soon as I get a Colonel rank (because then I can afford buying perks with FPs)

And the funniest is, when I choosed Bothan as a species I was not thinking of going Smuggler at all. And when I got bitten by the Smuggler bug, I had no idea my species would give me an advantage.

Correct me if I am wrong as it may have changed, but if you buy a base from an imperial then only imperials can use them. A friend and I had a very lucrative business selling imperial bases/turrents for a while, but this was at least 8 months ago. I know this does not work (at least back then)because I sold a base to an imperial guild that wanted a faction farm. They had a member who had a rebel alt and the person could not drop the base. By the way, if my friend had kept smuggler we would have had a faction vendor too

Yeah, you have to use the right faction people to drop the bases, but imps buy my reb bases for farms, and the turrets and other peripherals can be used by either side.

don't undercharge....135c/FP seems very fair for an imp smuggler. considering the hours (or even days) you'll spend at the recruiter....the wait time to go covert (or in my case getting killed all the time) etc.etc.
at 40% profit you will have one of the lowest profit margins of any profession
